Over breakfast the next morning, Wayne tells Dee
the good news and she is delighted - she thought that
Amanda would hold out for a few more days. Dee tells Wayne that they will
have to put on an act - he and
Amanda will have to fall in love gradually. Wayne tells her that's stretching
credibility a bit, but he'll be
very discreet. Amanda appears, looking the worse for wear. She tells Wayne
that they should keep their
affairs quiet for a while. Dee tells her she has already told Wayne that.
Amanda leaves to get a couple of
aspirin. Wayne tells Dee that Amanda could be having second thoughts. Dee
tells him she'll talk to her.
Kevin arrives at The Terrace, and isn't too happy to see Lynn and Phillipe
having a laugh in the yard,
with Phillipe holding Davey.
At Toorak, Dee asks Amanda if she's cooling off the idea. Amanda says that
she'll do it, but it's going
to be hard to convince anyone she's fallen for Wayne. Dee tells her that she'll
worry about Stephen -
all she has to do is be her charming self with Wayne, especially when someone
else is around.
At The Terrace, Kevin gives Lynn some housekeeping money and tells her they
should talk things over.
He tells her that Phillipe has to go. Lynn refuses. Kevin asks her how he
can settle down, knowing that
every time his back is turned.... Lynn is furious, and tells him to get out
and take his money with him.

Kevin phones Toorak, and Wayne answers. Kevin tells
Wayne he'd like to speak to Amanda. Before he gives
her the phone, Wayne tells her it's time she told Kevin to shove off. Kevin
asks Amanda if they can meet
for a talk. Amanda tells Kevin she'll meet him in the park in an hour. Once
off the phone, she tells Wayne
that her private life is her own business. Wayne tells her he is going to
the races, and could drop her off
at the park. Amanda tells him at least he is good for something.
Kevin is waiting in the park. Wayne and Amanda drive up and Kevin starts walking
over. Suddenly, Wayne
puts his foot down on the accelerator and drives away. Amanda tells him to
stop, or she'll jump out. Wayne
stops and Amanda gets out of the car. Wayne follows and asks her what she
would prefer - Kevin going on
about his boring wife, or a day at the races with suave, witty, sophisticated
him? He adds that Patricia
and Charlie will see how well they are getting on, and Dee will be pleased.
Amanda agrees, and asks Wayne
if she can borrow some money for a few bets. Wayne bets her ten dollars that
he picks the most winners.
