At The Terrace, Phillipe receives a call from his
cousin in Paris. He tells Lynn that his aunt is very ill.
He adds that she was like a mother to him, and he has to go straight back
to see her. He starts to go
upstairs, but turns back and returns to the kitchen. He tells Lynn that he
is booking a one-way ticket.
Phillipe explains that he only came to Australia because he was in love with
her, but now he must leave
so she can sort things out with Kevin.
Later, Phillipe arrives at the Palmer house and Kevin lets him in. Phillipe
tells him he needs to see Beryl,
but they have something to discuss first. He tells Kevin that, if he had any
sense, he'd go back to The
Terrace now and apologise to Lynn. Kevin tells him Lynn is the one who should
apologise. Phillipe tells
Kevin that he hopes all Australian men are not like him. He continues that
if he'd known what Kevin was
really like, he just might have taken Lynn from him. He tells Kevin that he
has a lot to do, and doesn't have
any more time to waste on a fool like him. Later, Beryl calls Rob and Angela,
and tells Phillipe that they
were thinking of selling The Terrace anyway. Phillipe is relieved that he
isn't letting them down.

Kevin arrives at Toorak, and Amanda lets him in.
He tells her he needs to talk to someone. Amanda says
sorry for what happened in the park - Wayne wouldn't stop the car. Wayne appears
and asks Kevin what
he's doing there. Amanda tells him to mind his own business. Wayne is on his
way out of the door when
Patricia, who has overheard the commotion, asks what is going on. Wayne doesn't
tell her and leaves.
In Amanda's room, Kevin tells her that he'd go back to Lynn like a shot if
she apologised, but everyone
is making him out to be the baddie. Stephen comes down the stairs and catches
Patricia listening outside
Amanda's room. Patricia tells him that something strange is going on between
Amanda and Kevin. Stephen
goes into the living room to see Dee and Patricia stays in the hallway listening.
Amanda tries to tell Kevin that it was her fault that he split up with Lynn,
but he isn't listening. He adds
that he isn't serious about her, not now she is going around with Wayne. Amanda
tells him that she isn't
interested in Wayne - they're only getting together because Dee is paying
them to. Patricia overhears
and is shocked. She goes into the living room and tells Stephen that she needs
to see him. They go into
the dining room, where Patricia tells him that Dee and Wayne must be working
together. She continues
that she overheard Amanda telling Kevin that Dee was paying her and Wayne
to get together. Patricia
adds that it must mean Wayne told her about the embezzlement. Stephen storms
out into the hall,
telling Patricia he is going to find out what Amanda has to say, and then
tackle Dee.

Stephen goes into his daughter's room and tells
Kevin to leave. He tells Amanda that Patricia overheard
what she was saying earlier. He asks her what she is getting out of the whole
idea. Amanda replies that
she's getting money, which is more than she's getting out of him. Stephen
tells her that he has given her
a chance to be independent, and she had taken the easy way out. He asks her
what is Dee's stake in
the affair - just a way of annoying him and Patricia? Amanda replies that
they're giving Dee something
that he and Patricia can't - Wayne is changing his name to Morrell, and they
are getting married. She
adds that they are going to give Dee her grandson. Stephen is shocked and
asks what the hell is happening
to them. Amanda tells him it's what he made happen, the day he married Patricia.
Stephen goes out into the hallway and asks Patricia if she loves him enough
to go along with whatever
he decides. She says she does, but doesn't know what's going on. They go into
the living room to see Dee.
Stephen angrily tells Dee that he knows about her plans for Amanda and Wayne
and he thinks they're
sick. He tells her that he's put up with her manipulating his life and she's
not going to do it to his
daughter. Stephen adds that they are all getting out. Dee tells him that Patricia
can leave, but his place
is in the house. Stephen tells her he needs to get back a bit of self respect,
but Dee tells him he is a fine
one to talk about that and he'll never have any while he's living with Patricia.
Stephen tells Dee he
doesn't want any of her money, and they'll be out of the house by lunchtime.
He and Patricia walk out
and Dee calls out her son's name. Patricia and Stephen go upstairs.

Later, suitcases are waiting by the front door.
Wayne comes in and asks Patricia what's happened.
Patricia tells him that he knows. She adds that it was the luckiest day of
Jill's life when she didn't marry
him, and that he should have done them all a favour and jumped. Wayne tells
her that Dee was the only
one who cared. Patricia answers that Dee didn't care - she just didn't want
to be inconvenienced.
Wayne goes into Amanda's room. Dee is there with Amanda, who is sobbing. Dee
tells her that when
Stephen walks though the front door, she wants her next to her, telling him
what a mistake he's making.
She continues that Amanda is eighteen years old and independent, and Stephen
has no claim on her. If she
sticks to her guns, Patricia will be out of her father's life in a few months.
She tells Amanda to fix her
hair, and they'll wait for Stephen and Patricia in the hall.

Stephen and Patricia come down the stairs. Stephen
takes some cases outside and a cab turns up. Stephen
tells the driver there are quite a few bags. Dee, Wayne and Amanda come out
into the hall. Dee tells
Stephen that she thinks he's behaving childishly. Stephen tells her he has
nothing more to say to her. He
tells Amanda he wants to see how adult she can be, and asks her to go with
them. Dee remarks that he has
nothing to offer her now he's broke. Stephen tells his daughter not to ruin
her life just for Dee, and that
marriage isn't something she can treat so lightly. Dee reminds him that he
left Amanda's mother because
it suited him. She tells Amanda that, if she goes with her father, she's going
with Patricia too. Amanda tells
him that she's staying, and rushes off. Dee tells Stephen to get out of her
house before she calls the police.
She tells him that the only way he'll be allowed back is without Patricia.
Stephen tells Dee that she's lost
Barbara and him, and it will only be a matter of time before Amanda wakes
up to her. Which leaves her with
Wayne - a money-hungry parasite. Stephen and Patricia leave. Wayne tells Dee
that he'll come crawling back.
Dee tells him to get out of her sight and leave her alone. She slams the front
door and doesn't look happy.....
