At the apartment,
Patricia is angry. She tells Stephen that she's not impressed with Gordon's
holier than
thou attitude, and that he's probably done some dodgy deals in the past. Stephen
tells her that he's going
out to find a job - he'd better get a move on if the embezzlement story is
doing the rounds.
At Toorak, Dee tells Amanda that her solicitor has just called. The marriage
licence is now though and so
is Wayne's change of name - he is now officially a Morrell. Amanda isn't impressed.
Dee tells her that if
she has a baby girl, she'll have to keep trying until she gets a boy. Beryl
is serving tea, and walks out of
the room, shaking her head in bemusement.
Stephen arrives back at the apartment. Charlie is there with Patricia. He
tells them that he found some
promising possibilities in the job market. After Charlie leaves, Patricia
asks him how he really got on. He
tells her that the embezzlement rumours got to everyone before he did, and
he couldn't even get his foot
in the door at some places. Patricia bets him that they'll be back on top
within a year.

At
Toorak, Dee gives Beryl a list of duties and then goes upstairs, telling Beryl
she is tired. There is
a knock on the front door. It is David. He tells Beryl to hand in her notice
- he has just found out who
paid off his truck, and it wasn't Dee. She's been leading them up the garden
path. David explains that
he got a call from a social worker at the prison where Margaret Dunne is.
The man told him that she has
been very down in the dumps, so she decided to pay off David's truck for him.
David adds that the
man wondered whether they'd be able to help Margaret when she came out of
prison soon, as they were
the only people she had a good word for. The pair go upstairs.
Dee has just got into bed when David and Beryl storm in. David calls Dee a
liar, and tells her she didn't
pay off his truck for him. Dee explains that she wanted to get them on side,
and that she didn't actually
say she HAD paid for the truck. David shouts that Dee couldn't care less about
anyone, as long as she
gets what she wants. Beryl tells her that some of the things she has been
up to over the last few days
have made her feel sick, but she chose to ignore them because she thought
they owed Dee something.
Beryl tells her to keep her job, and she and David storm out. Dee screams
out after them to come back.

Amanda comes
rushing out into the hall as David and Beryl go to the front door. Dee is
still shouting
from upstairs. Beryl tells Amanda she is leaving and, if she has any sense,
she'll do the same. David and
Beryl leave as Wayne comes in the front door. Amanda tells him that there
has been some kind of
argument with Dee, and she's going upstairs to find out what it was about.
Amanda walks into Dee's
bedroom, and Dee has slumped over onto her side. Amanda says "Gran. Are
you all right?" There is
no answer from Dee. Amanda goes out onto the landing and calls for Wayne.
Wayne comes out of the
living room and asks what is up. Amanda tells him that Dee is dead.....
