Charlie is sitting with
(and almost on) Matt in reception and chatting away when Patricia comes in.
Charlie goes off to get changed into her riding gear, and Matt tells Patricia
she's certainly made her
point. He asks if they can have one last ride together before he returns to
Sydney and Patricia agrees.
Fiona is walking out in the fields. She sees Matt and Patricia together on
horses, joking with each other.
Fiona returns to reception, where she finds Charlie dressed in her riding
gear. She tells Charlie that
Matt and Patricia are already outside riding. Charlie is disappointed.
Stephen drives up in his car and is met by
Charlie, who tells him that Fiona is looking for him. Inside,
Stephen finds Fiona. She apologises for bursting into the apartment the other
night, but tells Stephen
there is no way she will apologise to Patricia. She tells him there is something
she needs to ask him,
and asks him to drive her back to the house. Stephen agrees, but looks puzzled.

Back at the house, Fiona
tells Stephen that Alan Pascoe is okay with the horses and the workers, but
he's not exactly a charmer with the guests. She offers him the job as manager
of the riding school.
She adds that he would get a new lifestyle, and she'd get the best manager
she could. Stephen tells
her the offer is tempting, but he'd have to discuss it with Patricia first.
He asks why she would be
prepared to have Patricia around if she didn't like her. Fiona tells him that
if he was there, she'd spend
most of her time in the city. Stephen tells her he'll talk to Patricia.
Patricia and Matt arrive back at reception. Matt thanks her for a lovely end
to his holiday. He tells her
she is one of the most attractive women he has ever met, and gives her his
business card in case she
ever changes her mind.
At Toorak, Gordon is leaving. He tells Amanda that if she changes her mind,
she's always got a home at
Dural. Wayne remarks that he never gives up. Gordon ignores him, kisses Amanda
and leaves. In the
living room, Wayne tells Amanda that he is getting Beryl over there that afternoon
to start working on
her. He tells his wife that she is going to prison to see Margaret, so she
can get to know her and get
her on side. Amanda tells Wayne that he has enough, but Wayne tells her he
is hedging their bets, in
case she doesn't come up with the goods. Amanda glares at him.

At the riding school,
Patricia asks Stephen how Sydney was. Stephen tells her it was fine, but she
can
tell something is wrong. She asks what, and Stephen is about to tell her about
Andy but changes his
mind. He tells Patricia that Fiona has offered him a job. Patricia laughs
and tells him that he can't be
seriously considering it. Stephen tells her he might want to do it, and says
he is going for a walk. Patricia
asks if that's all that is bothering him and he says yes and leaves.
Over at the house, Patricia tells Fiona that she's trying to cause trouble
between her and Stephen, but it
won't work. Fiona tells her that Stephen seemed very interested in the offer.
Patricia remarks that she
has nothing to offer him. Fiona replies that peace, tranquillity and fresh
air are a big attraction to
someone who's had enough of big business. Patricia tells her that she's already
stood up to Dee Morrell,
so she doesn't stand a chance.
Stephen is out in the fields, and sees Alice and Tony Parker playing ball.
He looks thoughtful.
Beryl arrives at the house in Toorak and Wayne lets her in. They go into the
living room and sit down.
Wayne tells Beryl that it must be frustrating waiting for her money to come
through, so he offers her
a cheque. Beryl refuses and Wayne tells her it is only a loan. Beryl still
isn't interested. Wayne tells
her she must think what he and Amanda have done is pretty wrong, but there
are no rights or wrongs
with the Morrells - they are a crazy family. He tells her that he's done some
bad things in his life, but
now he wants to use his money to do good. Beryl tells him it is a very nice
offer, but she can't take
the cheque. Wayne tells her that he feels Dee has given him a second chance.
Beryl looks suspicious.

Patricia finds Stephen
sitting in reception. She tells him she can't understand him even considering
the
job - it seems like such a cop-out. Stephen tells her he was using the job
offer to get away from the
main issue. He adds that he didn't go to Sydney for business reasons - he
went to track down his
illegitimate son. Patricia looks stunned. He tells her he wasn't going to
drag Andy out of the woodwork
for Dee's benefit - he wanted some self respect. Stephen adds that he is glad
he did the right thing
by Andy. Patricia asks him what about her? She tells Stephen that he has put
her though hell. If they'd
had the grandson, they'd have had the money and she wouldn't have had to go
through all the humiliation.
Stephen explains that he didn't want to involve a completely innocent person.
Patricia tells him that she
was the same - she was dragged into the whole mess without knowing what was
going on. She adds that
she can't love someone who treats her like that and walks out.
Outside, Patricia starts crying. She sees Matt Kennedy, who is about to leave
in his car. Patricia asks
him to wait five minutes - she's coming with him.
Patricia goes back inside. Stephen asks her if it would help if he said sorry.
She replies no. She tells
him that she's going back to Sydney with Matt Kennedy. Stephen tells her he'll
see her in a few days
to give her time to calm down. Patricia remarks that she isn't going to calm
down, and when he gets back
to Sydney they'll have to sort out some new living arrangements. She tells
Stephen she is leaving him.....
