Later, Wayne is gloating.
He tells Amanda it was as easy as taking candy off a baby. Amanda tells him
it is nothing to be proud of. Wayne tells her he hopes she has her story right
for when she goes to see
Margaret in prison. Amanda sarcastically remarks that visiting prison is a
wonderful way to spend the
afternoon. Wayne tells her to make it clear that Margaret is welcome to stay
with them, and that he has
nothing to do with Patricia anymore. Amanda tells him that it makes her sick.
She remarks that if only
Dee knew what she'd started. Wayne tells Amanda that Dee would probably be
tickled pink.
At Dural, Barbara and John are in the driveway when Stephen drives up and
gets out of his car. John
asks him how it went, and Stephen tells him he'd rather not talk about it.
John follows him into the house
and tells him he's better off without Patricia. Stephen shouts that it's none
of his business, and storms off.

At Toorak, Wayne is just
about to go for a jog when Amanda comes up the path. He asks her how she
got on, and she tells him she's never felt so rotten in her life. She tells
him that Margaret is so down,
and he's going to rip her off. Wayne tells her to stop whinging and remember
that she's only got a couple
of things going for her - him and the money. Amanda tells him to go for his
jog and Wayne tells her that
Kevin is waiting to see her inside. Amanda goes inside and meets Kevin, who
asks her if she's okay, as
she doesn't look too good. Amanda tells him she is fine. Kevin tells her that
he and Lynn are back together
again, and she is pleased. She looks miserable, and Kevin tells her she's
not putting on a very good act.
He adds that if it's so bad with Wayne, she should leave him - she must have
somewhere to go. Kevin
suggests her mum or dad, but Amanda doesn't think she'd be welcome. He also
tells her that Barbara
is a nice lady, and would probably put her up. After Kevin leaves, Amanda
books a flight to Sydney
the next morning - one way.
Wayne is jogging along the street when he sees Rosie get off a tram. The pair
stare at each other.
Back at the house, Rosie tells Wayne that there's something evil inside him.
She adds that, even though
it breaks her heart, she's washing her hands of him. Wayne begs her not to
- she's the only friend he
has left. Rosie tells him there is one thing that would help change her mind
- if he gave up his marriage
to Amanda. Wayne tells her he can't. Rosie tells him that she loves him, but
he's no good and will only
ever break her heart. She tells him there is no way she can be his friend,
and leaves. Wayne looks upset.

The next morning, Amanda
creeps down the stairs with a large bag. She leaves a note on top of the
telephone and, looking behind her, goes out through the front door. Later,
Wayne comes down the
stairs and calls out for Amanda, but there is no answer. He looks in the living
room and the dining room
and then notices the note on top of the telephone. It says "I've had
enough!"
At Dural, John has just come from a swim and sees a taxi drive away. He meets
Amanda at the front
door. She tells him that she has left Wayne, and John tells her there is someone
inside who will be
interested to hear that. They go inside and meet Barbara, who tells Amanda
she can stay as long as she
likes, as long as she doesn't leave her clothes lying around. Barbara tells
her that her father is there
and he's walked out on Patricia. Amanda is delighted and rushes into the living
room. John remarks that
it's stupid how people can be happy about splitting up. Barbara tells him
they should have never been
together in the first place.
In the living room, Stephen is annoyed when Amanda tells him she is pleased
he's split up with Patricia.
He tells her to catch the next plane back to Melbourne if that's the only
reason she's there. Amanda
tells him that she's left Wayne for good. Stephen hugs his daughter and tells
her he is very pleased.

Later, Stephen, Barbara
and Amanda are talking in the living room. Barbara tells them it's nice to
see
them both so happy. Stephen tells her that, as far as he is concerned, his
marriage to Patricia is far from
over. Stephen tells the pair that there is something they should both know.
He tells Amanda that it affects
her more - she has a brother. Amanda looks puzzled and Barbara scoffs, but
Stephen tells them it's not
a joke. He decides to make some tea while they get over the shock.
A bit later, Barbara tells Stephen she must have known the mother. Stephen
tells her that he's not saying
who it is, but she wouldn't have heard of the woman involved. Amanda tells
him she's proud of him for
not involving Andy in the scramble for Dee's money. Stephen tells them that's
why he's fallen out with
Patricia - she wanted him to hold Andy up as son and heir. Barbara tells Stephen
she is proud of him too.
The phone rings and Stephen answers it. It is Wayne who wants to speak to
Amanda. Stephen tells him that
Amanda doesn't want to talk to him. Wayne insists that he's her husband, but
Stephen remarks that he
doesn't care if he's King Kong - he can't talk to her. He tells Wayne to leave
her alone and puts
the phone down. Amanda thanks him and tells Barbara that she's so glad to
be there.
