It could have been suicide.Barbara sobs.Barbara wants to see Andy.Harassment by the Press.
The next morning, Gordon is on the phone to the police. After he hangs up, he tells Barbara that the
police have come up with a new theory - they're not sure Helen's death was an accident. Barbara realises
he means suicide. She starts sobbing, and tells Gordon that she didn't even apologise to Helen for the
way she treated her. Gordon tells her to go to bed, but Barbara tells him she's going to see Andy -
someone should be with him today. She's disgusted that the story is already in the newspaper. Barbara
goes to get changed.
A short while later, Barbara leaves the house. Two men rush up, one with a camera. The other man starts
asking her questions. Barbara is furious and tells them to get out, but they continue to harass her. Gordon
comes out and tells the men if they aren't off the property in one minute he'll have them charged with
trespassing. Gordon tells them he's calling the police, and the men walk off. Barbara is upset again,
and Gordon takes her inside. Once the two men get to their car, they look at each other and don't get in.

Old letters?Beryl arrives.Wayne's in a funny mood!Really?
At Toorak, Amanda walks into the living room. She tells Wayne that the jeweller told her they can have
the clock back in about a week. She adds that, when the jeweller took the back off the clock, he found
something. Amanda gives Wayne a bunch of old letters, some of which look like they've been in a fire.
Wayne looks at the letters and goes quiet. He tells Amanda he'll talk to her later, and walks off. A while
later, he is sitting on the veranda reading the letters when Beryl arrives. She reminds him they were due
to go through her portfolio that morning. Wayne tells her the letters are from his father to his mum,
before he was born. He adds that his dad was overseas on a business trip. Beryl decides to leave him to
it and goes inside.
In the living room, Kevin brings in some coffee for him and Amanda. Beryl comes in and tells Amanda that
she's just been talking to Wayne outside, and that he's in a very serious mood. She adds that the letters
were from Gordon to Nancy - Wayne's mum. Kevin tells them it's typical for Wayne to be reading
something he shouldn't. Beryl tells Kevin that no one is all good or all bad. Kevin disagrees about Wayne,
and goes to the study. Amanda tells Beryl she's popping outside to see if Wayne's all right.

Wayne explains.Amanda is curious.Gordon threatens violence. The cocky reporter.
Wayne is reading a letter outside. In it, Gordon tells Nancy that he will be home in two weeks, and has
been thinking about names for their baby. He suggests Elizabeth if it's a girl, or Wayne if it's a boy.
He adds that he hopes it's a boy. Amanda appears and asks if Wayne is okay. He tells her it's strange
reading the letters - seeing your parents as two people in love. He adds that he never knew his mother -
she died when he was born - and now he feels like he's starting getting to know her. Wayne starts
reading a burnt one and says "No! Dad!" Amanda asks what's wrong. Wayne says nothing, so Amanda
decides to go back inside.
At Dural, the photographer is taking pictures of the swimming pool. Gordon comes out and tells them to
leave. The reporter asks him why he is getting so aggravated - has he got something to hide? Gordon tells
him to get out, or he'll flatten him. The two men leave.

You blame me?Andy blames himself.Barbara comforts him.Beryl's about to become rich.
Barbara arrives at the Green house and Andy lets her in. Barbara tells him he thinks Helen's death was
her fault, but Andy says no. Andy tells her he is the one to blame - he made her go to their place the
previous night. Barbara asks him if he's made any funeral arrangements and he says no. Andy tells her
that no one wanted to help Helen before. He asks Barbara why she and her friends had to come along
and mess everything up - his mum wouldn't be dead if they'd just left them alone. Andy says he tried to
save her, but she wouldn't start breathing again. He starts crying and Barbara holds him.
At Toorak, Kevin tells his mother that probate has been cleared on Dee's estate and she'll get a big cheque
into her account in the next couple of days. Wayne comes in and they tell him the good news. Wayne
doesn't seem interested and tells Beryl he has to go away for a few days. He tells Kevin there's no point
in him hanging around - he might as well take off now. Wayne meets Amanda on the stairs and tells her
he's going to Sydney to see his dad about the letters.

I'm going to Sydney.Wayne has no comment. If looks could kill!Wayne's disappointed.
In his car, Wayne turns into the drive at Dural. The reporter and photographer are waiting at the gates.
They ask him if he knows anything about the drowning, and Wayne tells them only what he reads in the
papers. He drives off up the driveway.
In the house, Barbara tells Gordon that Andy just wanted to be left alone. She says that Andy is so much
like Roland that, when she was comforting him, it was like she was with Simon or Wendy. There is a knock
on the door. Gordon answers it, and it is Wayne. Wayne tells him there is something personal he has to talk
to him about. Gordon invites him in and tells him to make it quick. Wayne shows him the bunch of letters
and tells him that they were found in the back of the old clock.
A short time later, Gordon is reading the letters. Wayne asks him how they got into the clock or got burnt,
but Gordon tells him there's no point. Wayne explains that, by reading the letters, he's got to know more
about the pair of them. He tells Gordon he's starting to understand how he felt when Nancy died having
him. Wayne explains that he wants to try again. Gordon tells him that he must realise what a mockery he's
made of all his hopes, and it's too late for them. Wayne is both upset and furious, and tells the pair he's
made a fool of himself. He storms out, gets into his car and roars down the drive, almost knocking the two
newspaper men over. Wayne reverses and asks the reporter if he's still looking for info on Helen Green,
as he can give him a story, and it's a beauty.....
