The next morning, Stephen and Patricia walk into
reception. Patricia tells Stephen she is a lot happier
now she's sorted things out with Fiona. Jill tells Stephen that she wants
to put the figures he gave her
into the ledger book. Stephen is amazed that they balanced, so decides to
take Patricia out on a picnic.
Jill suggests they go to Carter's Creek, which is a nice spot. She leaves.
Stephen tells Patricia he's
looking forward to nothing more than the pair of them spending a quiet life
in the country.
Later in the office, Charlie kisses Stephen and thanks him for helping the
fashion parade to be a great
success. Patricia comes in and tells them that Mrs. Evans is making up a wonderful
picnic hamper for
them. The phone rings and Stephen answers it. Charlie tells Patricia she hopes
everything goes okay with
Stephen, but is worried about Fiona. Patricia tells her she's got Fiona nicely
in check. Stephen hangs up
the phone and tells Patricia the picnic's off - he has to go and look at some
stock at the request of Fiona.
He leaves, and Patricia tells Charlie that Fiona's an interfering old cow,
and it looks like she doesn't
believe she meant everything she said the previous night. Charlie asks her
what she's going to do. Patricia
replies that she's going to make sure Fiona starts taking her seriously.

Terry is fixing a chair in reception, and Patricia
tells him Stephen is supposed to be taking her on a
picnic, but he's busy. She asks Terry if he has any spare time, and he replies
that he might be able to
arrange something. The receptionist tells Terry she wants her chair fixed,
so he drags it out into the
hallway. Patricia tells him she'll see him about the details. Terry replies
that he'll be around the house
most of the morning. Charlie comes in and tells Patricia that she is leaving,
and Robin is putting her
luggage in the car. Patricia asks her if Robin can make a detour, as there
is a favour she'd like her to
do before she leaves. Charlie smiles at her.
At the main house, Charlie thanks Fiona for her help. She adds that she is
sorry to leave, as it's marvellous
to see Patricia starting to get on with everybody. Fiona tells her they'll
see how long it lasts. Charlie tells
Fiona that Patricia's a changed person - she's even taking Terry out on a
picnic. Fiona is shocked. Charlie
says goodbye and leaves. Fiona tells Jill that Charlie thanked her the previous
night, and that last visit
was Patricia's way of saying she was going to start making trouble with Terry.
She adds that she'll have
to have a word with Terry. Jill tells her that Terry doesn't like being told
what to do. Fiona says that
she'll find a way to stop Terry getting involved with Patricia.

In reception, Patricia asks Terry if he can get
away in half an hour. Terry tells her he can't come - Fiona
wants him to stay around the house while Stephen is away. Patricia tells Terry
that she'll set up the food
in the office, and they can have a picnic in there. Terry is pleased.
Later, the pair are eating in the office. Terry asks Patricia what Stephen
would think about their little
picnic. Patricia tells him that Stephen isn't a monster and she IS allowed
to have friends. Terry drops
some beetroot down his shirt. Patricia starts to wipe his shirt and Terry
starts to kiss her. Patricia shies
away and Terry asks her what's wrong. Patricia says she just wanted them to
be friends, and there's been
a misunderstanding. Terry isn't happy, and tells her he is sorry. He puts
his hat on and leaves. Patricia
looks pleased with herself.
Later, Stephen is in the office with Jill. He isn't really listening to her,
and tells Jill he is thinking about
something else. Stephen hears Patricia's voice outside and asks Jill to ask
her to come in. Jill leaves and
Patricia comes in. Stephen stands up quickly and goes over to shut the door.
He tells Patricia he called at
the stables on his way back from the sale, and was entertained by stories
about his wife. He adds that,
if he's going to have to listen to sordid jokes about her bringing Terry in
there and seducing him, he'd
at least like to know if they're true.....
