Patricia admits she had lunch with Terry. Stephen
asks her what the hell she is playing at. Patricia tells
him she is helping matters with Fiona by being pleasant to her son. Stephen
tells her not to lie to him.
Patricia admits that she is doing it to stop Fiona interfering with them.
Stephen tells her it must be a
disease - yesterday she promised to stop manipulating people and now she's
doing it again. He says that
he's going to have a word with Terry, then think about whether it's worth
them getting back together.
Stephen goes outside where Terry is chopping wood. He tells Terry he has been
boasting at his wife's
expense, which is cheap and unpleasant. He adds that he wants the men told
the truth by the morning.
Terry tells Stephen he'll make sure.
At Toorak, Andy tells Wayne and Amanda he's going for tea at the Palmers.
He leaves. Amanda tells
Wayne she hasn't been feeling well lately. Wayne tells her she should see
a doctor, and that he's
going to a meeting tomorrow afternoon. Amanda is worried that he'll have another
blackout, but Wayne
tells her he needs to get his act together.

Later, Amanda tells Wayne she's made an appointment
to see the doctor in the morning. The phone rings
and Amanda answers it. On the other end, a posh woman asks to speak to Wayne
Hamilton. Wayne takes
the phone and the woman tells him she is Jacki Ingleton. He seems pleased
to hear from her. Jacki
thanks Wayne for the coffee the other day, and tells him next time he'll have
to pay. Wayne tells her
to hang on, and tells Amanda that it is an old girlfriend - the one from the
coffee shop the other day.
He adds that he might be able to find out what happened at last. Later, Wayne
tells Amanda he'll find
out more about what happened tomorrow. Amanda tells him she should be there,
but Wayne tells her she
needs to see the doctor. Amanda asks who Jacki is. Wayne tells her she's an
old girlfriend he had
before he fell for Jill. He adds that it'll be interesting to see her again,
as he's dying to find out what
happened in those three hours the other day.
At
the riding school, Patricia is sitting in the office. Terry comes in and tells
her he wants to apologise.
Patricia accepts and tells him he'd better go. Then Stephen comes in and Terry
makes himself scarce.
Patricia asks Stephen how he could stay away for so long after what he said.
Stephen tells her he
needed to think. Patricia promises never to do anything like that again. Stephen
tells her she's never
kept any of her promises, and he'd like her to take the job with Robin. Patricia
tells him he can't mean
it. Stephen tells Patricia that if she takes the job she'll be occupied in
the city and they'll be able to see
each other on her days off. Patricia asks him if he means a sort of separation,
and he says yes. Patricia
is upset and tells him that if that's what he wants, she will do it. Stephen
tells her it isn't what he wants
but they have to give themselves a chance. He hugs her.

At Toorak, Amanda and Andy come down the stairs.
Amanda tells him she's seeing the doctor that
morning and Wayne is seeing the girl today, which should clear up what happened
in the missing three
hours. Andy tells her she's really fallen for Wayne and she tells him she
has. Amanda says she supposes
he finds it hard to understand how she could love someone she shouldn't. Andy
tells her he doesn't.
He adds that he'd better make tracks. Wayne comes out and apologises for the
newspaper article about
Helen. He asks Andy to drop a letter into the Palmers on his way to the airport.
Andy tells him he doesn't
want to miss his plane, but Amanda tells him he has plenty of time. Andy grudgingly
agrees, and leaves.
Later,
Wayne is having a drink with Jacki in the living room. She tells him nothing
out of the ordinary
happened, and he was acting normally. She continues that they met in Toorak
Village, and she suggested
they go for a coffee. In the hall, Amanda hears them joking and laughing so
she goes in. Wayne introduces
her to Jacki and Amanda gets a drink. Amanda tells Jacki that it's a pity
she missed their wedding. Jacki
and Wayne look surprised. Later, Jacki leaves, not looking too pleased. Wayne
asks Amanda what the idea
was of saying they were married and then fawning all over him. Amanda tells
him she IS his wife. Wayne
reminds her it was her idea they shouldn't interfere with each other's lives.
He tells her not to do anything
like that again.

Later, the phone in the hall rings. Amanda answers
it, then there is a knock at the door. Amanda lets Beryl
in, who asks her why Wayne didn't arrive at the meeting. Amanda tells her
he was heading there when he
left. She goes back to the phone and speaks to someone at the bank, who tells
her that Wayne left his
cheque book on the counter and made quite a large withdrawal. Amanda tells
Beryl she is worried that
Wayne has had another blackout. Beryl asks her if she's okay, and she says
she has a virus. Beryl offers
to stay until Wayne gets back, but Amanda tells her she'll be okay. Beryl
leaves.
At the riding school, Fiona asks Patricia if she is leaving. Patricia tells
her that it's obvious. Fiona remarks
that it'll teach her to play little games. Patricia tells her the car's waiting
outside, and walks out.
Wayne arrives back at the house in Toorak. Amanda tells him she's been worried
about him. Wayne replies
that he hasn't had another blackout and didn't go to the meeting because he
didn't feel up to it. They go
into the living room and sit down. Wayne gives Amanda a gold bracelet and
tells her it's for being such a
good friend. Amanda tells him that when she went to see the doctor, it wasn't
a virus she had - she's two
months pregnant. Wayne is shocked as Amanda tells him the baby is his.....
