Stephen is working in the office when Patricia
comes in and tells him she's had the most wonderful news.
She explains that James Sheppard's solicitors have been in touch to tell her
that James had put some
money into investments for her, and they've matured. Stephen asks her if she's
going shopping, but she
says it's much more than that. She adds that she wants him to have the money.
Stephen can't understand
why. Patricia tells him it's enough money for him to start his own business
in Melbourne. Stephen isn't
sure, but Patricia tells him she's instructed her solicitors to pay it into
their joint account - he can do
whatever he wants with it. Stephen tells her there's no harm in thinking about
it, and he might go to Sydney
and talk to some people about what's available in Melbourne. Patricia is happy
and tells him it'd be good
to see him running something of his own.
They go out into reception, where Jill asks Stephen if he's signed Gordon's
contract yet. He tells her she'll
have to hold onto it, as he's got some personal business in Sydney. Patricia
tells him she'll pack his bag and
book a flight for him while he talks to Alan. Stephen leaves. Patricia tells
Jill she can tear the contract up
- it'll never be used now. She leaves and Jill looks disappointed.

Later, Stephen is driving along the road. There
are a lot of jams and he loosens his collar and doesn't look
very happy. At Dural, he tells Andy he had to get out of the traffic for a
while. He adds that he'd like a chat
with Gordon while Andy is finishing his auditions. Andy tells him Gordon and
Barbara are out, and he'll join
him in a sec. Stephen goes into the living room. Andy asks a guitarist for
his number and lets him out. He joins
Stephen at the bar and tells him it's so hard to find the right combination
of people. Stephen tells him that
Patricia's had a windfall, and he's been checking out the possibility of going
into business for himself in
Melbourne. He adds that driving around the city made him realise how much
he likes living in the country -
he's fed up with traffic and rude people. Andy tells him, if he's looking
for something to invest his money in,
he could have the answer. Stephen laughs and asks him if he means back his
band. Andy says he's serious.

At Woombai, Patricia is on the phone to Margaret.
Margaret tells her, although she said she wouldn't try to
split up David and Beryl, Beryl is ignoring him and things are going to get
worse. Patricia wishes her luck.
Jill comes in, and Margaret tells Patricia she wishes she was there. Patricia
looks at Jill and tells Margaret
she thinks they will be leaving there very shortly.
Later, Stephen arrives. Patricia asks him if he's seen something that interests
him, and he tells her he has.
Stephen continues that he's seen Gordon, and told him they'll buy part of
Fiona's share of Woombai.
Patricia looks horrified. He tells her that Wayne can't afford all of Fiona's
share, so they'll take what's
left. Patricia tells him that he wanted to be closer to Amanda, but he replies
he's talked to her about it -
all she has to do is hop on a plane. Jill adds that, if anything goes wrong
between Amanda and Wayne,
it's a great place to bring up a baby. Stephen says that he thought he was
going to go insane with all the
crowds and traffic in the city, but now he's back and his own boss - it feels
great. He tells them he's
back, and wild horses wouldn't drag him away. He goes to put his bag away
and Patricia looks furious.
Jill tells her she must feel pretty stupid. Patricia tells her to shut up.
Jill adds that she's stuck there
now, unless she decides to leave Stephen - so much for her stupid plan. Patricia
slaps Jill in the face
and, at that moment, Stephen walks in. He asks his wife what the hell she
thinks she's doing.....
