Liar!Jill is under fire. Why hasn't he come forward?Jill is telling the truth.
Patricia tells her husband she's given Jill exactly what she deserves. She explains that the whole contract
business was a deliberate attempt to break up their marriage, engineered by Gordon with help from Jill.
She adds that they wanted him to stay at Woombai permanently, hoping she would leave him. Stephen
doesn't believe her. Patricia says that Gordon and Jill still think they've had a win, because he's now
going to invest in Woombai. She asks Jill if that's true. Jill looks at Stephen and tells him they did it for
a reason. Stephen tells her it had better be a good one. Jill tells him that Terry didn't attack Patricia - she
set the whole thing up to get back at Fiona. Stephen asks her if she has any proof and she says no. Stephen
announces he's fed up with all the backbiting and conniving that goes on around Patricia. He tells Jill she
can inform the others he won't be buying into Woombai - he's serving out his notice, then he and Patricia
will leave. They walk out, with Patricia giving Jill a glare.
The next morning, Jill comes into the room with breakfast. She tells Stephen there is a witness who saw
Patricia leading Terry on before the so-called attack, but he's too scared he'll lose his job if he says
anything. She reminds Stephen what Terry did to her, and that she wouldn't make it up to cause trouble -
it's not the way she does things. Jill adds that it's the sort of thing Patricia does and, if he's honest with
himself, he'll admit it.

I want to get away! What do I have to do?Here are your duties.Jill can't believe it.
Later, Stephen is reading the paper outside when Patricia comes out with her breakfast. Stephen tells her
he's been doing a lot of thinking about their situation, and he's damned if he's going to let Gordon and
Jill drive them off the place. Patricia looks surprised. Stephen explains there's only one way to refute
what they say about her lying - for them to buy into Woombai. He asks her if she'll back him all the way.
Patricia tells him she'd rather forget the lot of them and get away from there. Stephen tells her that her
reputation is too important for them to just walk away. He adds that they're staying. He also says that he
can't work with Jill, so she'll have to do her job from now on.
Inside the house, Jill is on the phone to Gordon. She tells him it was Stephen's idea to test Patricia, hoping
that she'll come through with flying colours. Gordon asks what he has to do. Jill tells him to get there as
soon as possible with the papers for the sale, and that she's worried that Patricia will sign. Gordon tells her
she won't - she'll be stuck there for good if she does. Jill hears noise and tells Gordon she'd better go. She
hangs up and Patricia and Stephen come in. Stephen takes a list of duties from Jill, and she leaves. Stephen
reads out all the things that Patricia has to do, and she looks uncomfortable.
Later, Jill is polishing cutlery when Stephen comes in. She asks him how Patricia is getting on. Stephen
replies that she's doing all right. Jill tells him she is surprised by what has happened, as Patricia has always
been good to her. She asks him if he thinks Patricia will sign the contract. He replies that they'll know that
when Gordon arrives. Stephen tells her he knows she thinks Patricia is guilty, but he hopes she's wrong.

I hope you're wrong.It's Mrs. Pike!The signing.It was a pack of lies!
Later, Patricia and Stephen are walking around outside. Patricia tells her husband she managed to cope
all right. Mrs. Pike calls out to them and Patricia groans. Stephen tells her that Mrs. Pike is a nice woman.
Mrs. Pike congratulates them on becoming part owners of Woombai. Patricia tells her they haven't actually
signed the papers yet. Mrs. Pike asks her if she's thought any more about becoming a member of the C.W.A.
and starts going on about it. She reaches inside her bag, saying she has a copy of the monthly magazine.
Patricia blows her top, saying she has no intention of joining her tin-pot organisation. She adds that she's
got enough on her plate without sitting around with her and her friends discussing twenty-five ways to
bake scones! She storms off. Stephen apologises to Mrs. Pike, telling her that Patricia has had a hard day
and has a headache. He follows Patricia.
Inside the house, Patricia is taking pills. Jill jokes that, if she stays on, she'll have the same boring routine
day after day. Patricia tells her she doesn't need her opinion. Stephen comes in and tells Patricia that her
behaviour was totally uncalled for, and she's going to have to join eventually. Jill hears Gordon arriving.
Stephen tells Patricia they might as well get the contract signed. He tells Jill that, afterwards, he'll want
a full apology from her and Gordon.
A short time later, Stephen signs the contract on the table and Gordon signs to witness it. Stephen gives
the pen to Patricia and tells her it's her turn. She just stands there. Stephen asks her what she's waiting for
- it's perfectly straightforward. He adds that it's what they both want. Patricia says it isn't - it's what HE
wants. She throws the pen down. She tells him he might be happy to rot away there, but she isn't. Patricia
storms outside, and Stephen follows her. Jill and Gordon look at each other.
Outside, Stephen tells Patricia her story about Terry was all a pack of lies. She tells him it was, but she did
it for a reason - because she loves him. She asks him what he's going to do about it.....
