Stephen asks Patricia how she could have thought
it was for him - she was forcing him to lead a life he
didn't want. Patricia tells him he was doing the same to her. Stephen replies
that she should have been
honest about it, instead of dragging Terry into it. Patricia tells him that,
as soon as he missed out on Dee's
money, it was downhill from there. She adds that he's weak and gives in too
easily, and begs him to come
away with her. Stephen asks her how she can even think that. Patricia tells
him they are finished - she's
damned if she's going to be dragged down to his level. She adds that she was
a fool to waste so much
time on him. Stephen replies that he was a bigger fool - he knew what she
was like and he wouldn't face
it - it won't happen again. Patricia marches into the house, and tells Gordon
and Jill she won't forget
their part in this. Gordon tells her to stop blaming other people for what
she brings on herself. Stephen
comes in, and Patricia remarks that she has rotten taste when it comes to
husbands. Stephen tells her
it'd be best if she left now. Patricia grabs the pen and signs the contract,
telling them she is now a
legal partner in Woombai - she can come and go whenever she pleases. She warns
them they'll find out
how bad an enemy they've made.
A while later, Patricia throws her luggage in the boot of her car, glares
at Stephen and drives off.
Halfway along a road, Patricia pulls over and starts sobbing.

Back at Woombai, Stephen tells Gordon he should
phone the other owners and let them know what's
happened. Gordon tells him he already has. Stephen tells him he should apologise
to Fiona. Gordon says
that she's pretty understanding - she knows Patricia's to blame. Jill says
she's really sorry for what's
happened, and goes to bed. Gordon tells Stephen he knows how he feels and
it'll take a while to get it
out of his system. Stephen says the thing that hurt him the most is the way
Patricia looked at him before
she left - cold, as if she hated him.
At the Sydney apartment, Patricia tells Robin he should have seen the other's
faces when she signed
the contract. Robin says that her marriage has just broken up - doesn't that
upset her? Patricia says it
happens, and they'll pay in the long run. She adds that, as long as she gets
enough money to keep her
happy, she couldn't care less about Stephen. Robin tells her that putting
every cent she got from Wayne
and Amanda into Woombai wasn't a very bright idea. Patricia tells him it'll
pay off in the long run. Robin
says that he's going to Woombai the next day - what if they suspect he was
involved in setting up Terry?
Patricia tells him to act shocked and say he's having nothing more to do with
her. Robin says that's a bit
difficult, as she's still living there. Patricia says she won't be - she's
going to Melbourne tomorrow morning.
Robin tells her not to worry about Wayne and Amanda - they won't have any
problems with them. Patricia
says she's going to be near her sister, although it wouldn't be a bad idea
to remind Wayne and Amanda
where they stand.
At
Toorak, Wayne is on the phone to Beryl. Beryl keeps talking about the baby
and Wayne looks very
uncomfortable. There is a knock at the door, so Wayne tells Beryl he has to
go. He opens the door, and
Patricia comes in with a suitcase. Wayne asks her what she wants. She tells
him she's dumped Stephen.

Wayne tells her that Gordon rang and told him the
full story. He asks her what the suitcase is for. Patricia
tells him she needs somewhere to live, but he tells her to forget it - no
way is she staying there. Patricia
tells him he's in no position to argue. Wayne tells her he doesn't believe
her - she's prepared to stay there
and watch what she's doing to Amanda, who is almost out of her mind. Patricia
tells him that the pair of
them have spent the best part of their lives lying and double dealing to get
their own way, so he shouldn't
whinge to her when the positions are reversed. Wayne tells her she won't get
away with it - somewhere
along the line she'll fall flat on her face. Patricia tells him she and Robin
have got things under control.
She tells him she's going to see Margaret, and that he should take her suitcase
upstairs. Wayne is annoyed.
At Woombai, Robin tells Gordon that he had nothing to do with the Terry incident
- he has nothing against
Terry, and he and Patricia aren't that close. He adds that he was relying
on Patricia's help there today. He
explains that part of his PR campaign there is to sell holidays to people
who don't want to spend all their
time on a horse, and wants to emphasise other things like local beauty spots.
Robin says he needs someone
to show him around so he can take some photos. Jill says that she knows the
district pretty well, if Stephen
can spare her for a few hours. Stephen tells her as long as she feels up to
it. Robin tells Jill they might as
well go now. He tells Stephen he's sorry to hear about everything - it must
have been a shock. Stephen says
that it was. Robin and Jill leave. Gordon tells Stephen he's not too sure
about Mr. Elliot - he and Patricia
were as thick as thieves. Stephen agrees, and says it might be an idea to
keep an eye on him.
