We should stay out of it!Wayne lies.Trouble at Toorak.I'm not letting you off!
Later, Gordon confirms that Wayne's signature WAS on Patricia's cheque. Barbara points out that means
she does have a hold over Wayne and Amanda. Fiona tells them they shouldn't get involved - Patricia and
Wayne are as bad as each other. Gordon says he believes Wayne and Amanda are trying to settle down to
a normal married life. He adds that it was a large amount of money that Wayne paid for Patricia - it had
to be for a good reason. Gordon decides to ring Wayne, to find out what's going on.
Wayne tells him there's nothing going on between him and Patricia. He says he felt sorry for her when she
broke up with Stephen and gave her a hand with some cash. He says he has to go out for an appointment
and says goodbye. Gordon tells Barbara and Fiona he can always tell when Wayne is nervous - Patricia
does have a hold over him. They realise that Patricia is almost certainly blackmailing him. Gordon wonders
how he can find out.
At Toorak, Amanda tells Wayne there's no way Gordon can find out, and he wouldn't go to the police
anyway - not with his own son involved. Wayne tells her that Gordon is a pillar of virtue - he couldn't have
it on his conscience, even for the family's sake. They hear the door go and Wayne tells Amanda not to say
a word to her. Patricia waltzes in and remarks it IS chilly in there. Wayne asks her what she was expecting
- a kiss and a hug? Patricia tells Wayne she's not letting them off the hook.

Gordon tricks Robin.Amanda is upset.Barbara and Gordon decide.Wayne apologises.
Gordon phones Robin at his hotel and tells him he had a very interesting chat with Wayne, who told him a
few unpleasant things. Robin tells him that Wayne and Amanda have broken the law and warns Gordon he
shouldn't try interfering, as they'll end up in jail. He explains he tried to get Patricia to change her mind,
but she wouldn't have a bar of it. Gordon tells him he shouldn't have any objections if HE tries to change
Patricia's mind. Robin tells him that Patricia convinced him it was worth sticking to, but says he'll do
anything he can to help. Gordon tells him he'll be in touch, and hangs up. Fiona tells him that, for once,
she's on Wayne's side. Barbara says that Patricia will never change her mind, but she can think of someone
who could possibly persuade her. Gordon tells her it's worth a try.
At Toorak, Patricia asks Wayne for the keys to his car. He tells her to get a cab, and that she thinks she
owns them. Patricia tells him he said it, and Wayne gives her the keys. When she leaves, Wayne tells his
wife that's only the beginning - she's going to use them in every way she can. Amanda tells him there's
only one thing they can do - get away from there. Wayne tells her not to be so damn stupid. Amanda retorts
that he's the genius - he can get them out of the mess. Wayne answers that she's the one who got them into
the mess. Amanda looks upset and runs off. Wayne is sorry, and goes out the front door.
At Woombai, Gordon, Barbara and Fiona decide that Margaret is the only one who can get Patricia to change
her mind. Gordon decides he'll have to get her there by saying it's a business matter.

Wayne warns Patricia.Shock!Horror!Who's that at the bottom of the stairs?
Later, Gordon is on the phone to Margaret at her flat. Margaret asks if it's that important. Gordon tells
her he's chartered a plane to fly her there and back. Margaret tells him she'll see him when she gets there
and hangs up. Patricia remarks that it's odd he doesn't want her there. She decides to go anyway. Margaret
tells her it'll only cause problems that none of them need. Patricia tells her sister they'll get stuck into her
behind her back. Margaret reassures her they won't have a chance of changing the way she feels about her.
Wayne arrives back at Toorak. Patricia is on the landing and asks him if he's been summoned up to
Woombai, or knows anything about an urgent meeting there. Wayne says no, and he's not really interested.
He goes into the living room where Amanda is sewing. He says he didn't mean the things he said and says
that he's sorry. Amanda tells him she knew he'd end up blaming her, and it's going to get worse with Patricia
putting the pressure on.
Out in the hall, Patricia is trying to phone Margaret, but her number is engaged.
In the living room, Wayne tells Amanda he won't let Patricia get to him. Amanda says that she'll wear him
down. Patricia marches into the room and announces that Gordon is up to something - Margaret's been
called to Woombai. She tells Wayne she wants him to go up there and find out what's going on. Wayne tells
her to go herself. Patricia orders him to do as he's told, and leaves the room. Furious, Wayne rushes after
her. Amanda looks worried and follows. Wayne follows Patricia up the stairs and grabs her arm, telling her
to leave them alone. Patricia tells him he's making a fool of himself. Wayne tells her he'll do anything he can
to stop her interfering. Patricia tells him to let her go and struggles. She loses her footing and goes tumbling
down the stairs, landing in a heap at Amanda's feet. Wayne and Amanda look at each other in horror.....
