Stephen, Barbara, Fiona and Jill arrive back at
Woombai with baby Fee, and are surprised to be met
by Robin. Stephen asks him what he wants, and Robin says he wants to talk
to him and Gordon. Stephen
tells him Gordon's in Melbourne trying to sort out the mess he's caused, and
they can talk in the office.
Stephen and Robin make their way into the office. Stephen asks him what sort
of reception he expected.
Robin says he expects him to at least listen to his side of the story. He
explains that he thought Amanda
would be able to handle it. Stephen says he doesn't know what sort of girl
would handle having to cover
up a miscarriage. Robin tells him the same sort that married for money. He
gives Stephen a cheque and
tells him it's the full amount he got from Wayne, and he doesn't like giving
it back. Robin tells Stephen
they should forget the whole thing ever happened. Stephen reminds him that
he put Wayne and Amanda
though hell. Robin tells him he'll have enough trouble with his wife turning
up, without getting a hard
time from him as well. Stephen says he'll talk to Gordon when he gets back
in a day or two. Robin tells
him he'll book into the riding school, but keep out of everyone's way. On
his way out, he says that he's
paid the money back and, in his book, that's business - not crime. He leaves
and Stephen shakes his head.
Later, the receptionist comes in and hands Stephen a large envelope. She tells
him it's for Mrs. Hamilton
and has just arrived by special courier. Stephen wonders what could be so
important, but tells her they'll
soon find out. He puts the envelope by the phone on the desk.
