Patricia opens the front door at Toorak and is
delighted to see Matt Kennedy standing there. He tells
her he was just passing and decided to drop in. Patricia asks him what he's
doing in Melbourne and
he tells her he's on business. Matt tells her he's heard about Margaret and
figured she could use a
friend. Patricia thanks him and says she can't think of anything she needs
more right now.
Later, in the living room, Patricia gives Matt a drink. She tells him that
Gordon, Fiona and the rest
tried to destroy her - first they wrecked her marriage and then tried to turn
her sister against her.
She rants that Gordon has ruined Margaret's life trying to get at her. Matt
looks at her worriedly. He
asks her if she's going to the hospital, and she says she'd better get going.
Matt offers her dinner later
and she tells him it's good to know there's somebody she can trust. Matt looks
guilty.
Patricia arrives at the hospital to be met by an angry David. He tells her
it's her that's been stopping
him from seeing Margaret, not the doctors. He adds that he checked and was
told she had given them
strict instructions. David says he wants to know why. Patricia tells him that
Margaret doesn't want to
see him. She says that, when the doctors told her some of her burns will be
permanent scars, she thought
he wouldn't want to see her. David tells Patricia that Margaret has to believe
that he cares. He asks her
to tell Margaret that he and Beryl are getting a divorce. Patricia tells him
she's sorry. David says that
maybe he should see Margaret himself. Patricia tells him it would be better
coming from her.

Patricia is in Margaret's room, and tells her there's
so much that can be done nowadays - skin grafts are
very successful. Margaret says what about the rest of her body? She tells
Patricia she doesn't know what
it's like - every movement hurts so much. She says she doesn't think she has
the energy to put up with it.
Patricia tells her she must find it, because she's got so much to live for.
She says that David's feelings for
her haven't changed - he still loves her. Patricia adds that David and Beryl
are getting a divorce, and he
comes there every day hoping that she'll see him. Margaret looks tearful and
tells Patricia to tell him not to
bother, as he's better off trying to save his marriage. Patricia says that
she owes it to David to tell him that,
and she'll go and get him. Margaret says no - she doesn't want to see him.
She adds that she wants David to
remember her the way she was.
Later at Toorak, Patricia tells Matt she doesn't feel like going out after
seeing Margaret. Matt offers to
knock up a meal. Patricia tells him he'll have to use leftovers, and says
she'll show him where the pots and
pans are.
Later, Patricia and Matt have just finished their meal. Patricia tells him
it was very nice. She adds that it's
a good feeling knowing you can trust somebody. Matt replies that, with the
things he knows about her, she's
got no choice. Matt tells her she's a bit naughty sometimes - the photos are
pretty close to the bone.
Patricia asks him how he knows about them, then adds that Gordon's been onto
him - that's why he's there.
Matt asks if it matters. Patricia says that she thought he was the one person
in the world she could trust,
and he's one of them. Matt tells her it isn't a question of sides - everyone
is worried about her. He adds
that she's just imagining that everyone is against her, and she's got to let
him help her. Matt says, if she
doesn't, she'll wind up being committed. Patricia slaps him around the face
and yells at him to get out.
She yells she doesn't need his help, she doesn't need theirs, she doesn't
need anybody's.....
