John has arrived at Toorak. Patricia asks him what
made him suddenly
decide to come and see her. John
tells her he wanted to see how she was getting on. Patricia asks him if it
would have anything to do with
Matt Kennedy, and John doesn't reply. Patricia tells him that he and Angela
cut her dead and she wouldn't
trust him an inch - he's in with the rest of them. John tells her he isn't
in with anyone and neither is Matt -
they're just worried about her. Patricia tells him she doesn't need his help.
John tells her he stuck by her
before when she was sick. Patricia tells him she's not sick. John replies
that, with some of the things she's
been doing, there's something wrong. Patricia asks him about the things that
people have done to her. John
tells her she can't blame anyone for what happened to Margaret - it was an
accident. He adds that she
can't spend the rest of her life trying to get back at people. Patricia tells
John she'll do what she likes
and he's holding her up from going to the hospital. John says he cares about
what happens to her because
she's his mother. Patricia tells him to save that line for Beryl - she's the
one with the money these days.
At the hospital, the doctor asks Patricia how Margaret seemed today. Patricia
tells him she was very quiet.
The doctor tells her that Margaret has lost ground and they're quite worried.
He adds that she's giving up.
Patricia doesn't believe him. The doctor says there's only so much they can
do - a lot depends on Margaret.
He says that, if she lets go at this stage, there's very little they can do.
Patricia tells him that her sister is
going to be fine and, if he can't do his job properly, she'll find a doctor
who can.
Stephen is talking to Matt on the phone. He tells Matt he can't be serious.
Matt tells him he is still legally
Patricia's husband - he can authorise to have her committed. He says it's
her only hope.

Later at Woombai, Stephen tells Barbara she had
no right to bring Matt Kennedy into it. Barbara tells him
something had to be done. Stephen says that she should have talked to him
about it first. He tells Barbara
that Matt wants to have Patricia committed. Barbara is shocked. Stephen says
he isn't signing the papers.
Barbara tells him she knew Patricia was on edge, but hadn't realised it had
gone that far. Stephen tells
her that he isn't in love with Patricia anymore, but he still cares about
her. Barbara tells him it'd be helping
her - they're hardly going to lock her up in a padded cell. Stephen shakes
his head and tells Barbara he
can't do it. Barbara tells him it's up to him.
At Toorak, Patricia comes through the front door and shouts out to see if
there's anybody there. She hears a
familiar voice coming from the living room and goes in. She finds Matt sitting
there, watching the video of
Dee Morrell's will reading. She asks him what the hell he thinks he's doing.
Matt tells her he wants her to see
something. Patricia goes to turn the telly off, but Matt grabs her and tells
her to look at Dee. Patricia says
she doesn't want to - she hates her. Matt asks her why - because she reminds
her of the way she's been? He
asks her if that's what she wants to be - another Dee Morrell? He asks her
if she wants to spend the rest of
her life looking over her shoulder. He drags Patricia round and shouts at
her to look at the screen. He tells
her she's hated. Patricia replies that her sister loves her. Matt tells her
she's dying. He says that she blames
Gordon for what happened to her, but it was her fault - they asked Margaret
up there because of things
she'd done. Patricia starts crying and says she's not like Dee. Matt tells
her she can't make it on her own.
Patricia sobs and asks Matt to help her. Matt hugs her and says it's okay,
he'll help her.....
