Stephen gives the orders.John and Amanda explain.Charlie and Patricia listen.
Stephen tells Patricia in a minute. He tells John and Amanda to take Patricia and Charlie into the living
room - he and Wayne will take care of Andy. Stephen and Wayne pick Andy up from the floor and Stephen
tells Barbara they'll have to get him out the back way into the car without his friends seeing.
In the living room, Patricia asks why Stephen hit Andy. John tells her he's been caught up in a crank
religious outfit. Amanda adds that he was brainwashed and they had to get him away to talk some sense
into him. John continues that knocking him out was the only way. He asks Patricia not to cause any trouble
as there's too much at stake. Stephen comes in to fetch Amanda and leaves John to handle the situation
there. John warns Patricia she'd better leave too - when the kids outside realise Andy isn't coming out,
they'll probably call the police. Patricia tells him SHE will call the police. She says she wants to help,
and attack is the best form of defence.

A short time later, Patricia is standing at the front door talking to Gary. He asks where Andy is. Patricia
tells him there's no one of that name there. Gary threatens to call the cops, but Patricia tells him she's
already done it. Gary says they'll let the cops search the place. Patricia reminds him the police will be
there at her request, and he could find himself up on a charge of trespassing. She shuts the door on him.

Push off Gary!Prepare for the Old Bill!Patricia's pulled it off!Andy's out of his head.
Patricia asks John if the boys know him by sight, and he says yes. She tells him he'd better hop out the
back way, but John says he'll hide upstairs. Charlie tells him the police might search the place. John
says if he hears the police coming, he'll take off. John asks Patricia if she can cope. She replies that
it's a good way to find out. Charlie hears the police drive up, and remarks that it's like being in the
middle of a spy novel! John goes upstairs and Patricia takes a pill. Charlie tells her she could do with
one herself!
Later, the police are leaving. One of the officers tells Patricia he'll have to register a complaint, but he
doesn't know what the kids are playing at. He tells Patricia he'll give them a warning and send them
packing. The police leave and John comes downstairs. He tells Patricia she was terrific - she could
have made a lot of trouble for Stephen and the others. Patricia admits it was her first impulse, but
talking to the doctors must have done her some good. John says that if there's any way he can help,
she can count him in. He gives Patricia a peck on the cheek.
Barbara is driving along with Stephen, Amanda, Wayne and Andy in the car. Amanda tells Andy he
hasn't spoken a word for hours. Stephen tells him they didn't want to hurt him, but they had to stop
him getting out. Andy says nothing. Barbara says they're only doing it to help him - why else would they
risk being charged with kidnapping? Amanda tells Andy that when they've got back to Sydney and he's
had a good rest, he'll start to see things differently. Andy still says nothing, and stares blankly ahead.
Amanda looks at Barbara, who shakes her head in disbelief.

You can never be sure! The old Patricia?Eat or get sick! We'll need patience.
Patricia and Charlie enter Margaret's flat with David. Patricia tells him she's very grateful to him for
letting her stay there. She says everyone's been terrific - Heather O'Brien rang earlier and invited her
over for lunch tomorrow. David leaves the room, saying he has a few things to do. Charlie asks Patricia
if it's wise to be living with the man she used to be madly in love with. Patricia says that anything
between David and her was finished a long time ago. She adds that there is one good aspect of her
living there. She says that the only threat to David and Margaret is Beryl, and she won't show her face
with HER living there. Charlie says that sounds like the old Patricia to her. Patricia smiles and says
they haven't got rid of her completely.
Barbara's car is parked outside some shops, and Amanda comes back with some burgers which she
passes around. Andy doesn't take his, and Amanda tells him he hasn't eaten all day. Barbara tells
him if he doesn't eat, he'll get sick. Wayne says that he'll eat Andy's. The others tuck in, and Stephen
joins Barbara outside the car. Barbara asks him how long Andy's going to be like that. Stephen says
that Samantha wasn't eating for three or four days. He adds that it's going to be a long hard
programme to break him out of it, and they'll need a lot of patience. Barbara says that Gordon has to
go to court tomorrow, and them landing on him with Andy isn't going to help matters. She adds that
he has had so much on his plate lately, she doesn't want to put any more pressure on him. Barbara thinks
for a bit, and then tells Stephen that maybe she doesn't have to.
