David arrives back at Margaret's flat and seems
to be in a mood. He sees Patricia all dressed up and says
it looks like she's going out. Patricia asks if there's anything wrong with
that. David says it depends. He
asks if she's heard about Robin and Patricia tells him she went to see him.
David says it seems a bit off
that she's dressed up to the nines and grinning like a Cheshire Cat. David
goes to get changed, and
Patricia shouts out what the hell does he think she is? She then goes over
to the pill bottle by the phone
and helps herself to one.
Later, Patricia is sitting looking at her watch. David comes back in and Patricia
tells him Jim's late. David
says he knows she doesn't like Robin Elliott, and he's only going by what
he sees - Robin's lying in bed in
hospital like a vegetable, and she's on top of the world. He adds that it
seems pretty much like the old Pat
to him. Patricia tells him she came home from hospital and cried her eyes
out. She says she doesn't enjoy
the fact that she's partly responsible for what happened, but the alternative
to sitting in her room and
hating herself is getting dressed up and going out on the town with a man
who makes her laugh. Patricia
says she's grabbing at straws because she doesn't want to end up back in the
home. She tells him he
always was the sensitive type, and goes to wait downstairs.

Much later, Jim escorts Patricia back to the flat.
Patricia tells him she'd invite him in, but she doesn't
want to disturb David. She thanks him for a lovely evening and apologises
for lumbering him with a
stranger's problems. Jim tells her she's becoming less of a stranger every
minute. Patricia laughs and
tells him he's SO smooth. Jim goes to kiss her, but she says no - not on the
first date! Jim invites her
for dinner again the day after tomorrow, and Patricia tells him it would be
lovely. Jim leaves and she
goes inside the flat. David appears and Patricia tells him she's too old to
have someone waiting up for
her. David tells her he couldn't sleep, and that he wanted to say sorry. He
says that living together isn't
going to be easy, not after all they've been through over the years. David
tells Patricia he'll try and be
a bit more understanding. Patricia thanks him, and says her night was really
nice. She tells him the man
is Jim O'Brien and asks if he knows him. David says he does, and he's got
a way of cropping up for a guy
that hasn't been around long. Patricia asks what he means. David tells her
to forget it, and goes back to
bed. Patricia turns out the lamp.
At Woombai, Wayne is on the phone to Gordon and thanks him for letting him
know. He puts the phone
down and asks Amanda if she got the gist of the conversation. Amanda says
she did. Wayne tells her
that Kathleen is locked up without bail, and Robin might as well be dead.
Amanda tells him she can't
understand why John didn't mention it when he phoned about Lynn coming. Wayne
says he probably
thought they had enough on their plates.

There is a knock on the
door and Wayne wonders who it is, as Stephen says he'd keep everyone away
from the place. Amanda tells him to answer it quickly, before Andy hears anything.
Wayne opens
the door to an old man, who says he's there to see Jill O'Donnell. He tells
Wayne he's Sean O'Donnell -
Brian's grandfather, and is there to see Jill and Brian's little girl.
Later, Wayne and Amanda are sitting on the veranda with Sean drinking tea.
Sean remarks that it's a fine
property. Wayne tells him it was shocking news about Brian and they're sorry.
Sean says he's lost three to
the violence - Brian, his father and Brian's lass Maureen. Amanda says he
should have phoned first and
saved himself a trip up there. Sean tells them he's the impulsive type, he
just decided to come one night and
left the next day. Wayne asks him why he came. Sean says that he sent Jill
some money for an air fare back
to Ireland - they're all very keen to see Brian's child. Amanda is about to
tell Sean about Fee when Wayne
interrupts and says she's a beautiful little girl. Amanda looks at him. Sean
continues that he's there as a
representative of the family. Amanda offers Sean some more tea and asks Wayne
to give her a hand inside.
Inside the house, Amanda complains to Wayne that he interrupts her every time
she tries to say that Fee
isn't Brian's daughter. Wayne tells her it isn't their business, and it's
up to Jill to tell Sean. Wayne
remarks that it would be better for Jill to say that Brian is the father -
from what he heard, he thinks
Sean is worth a fair bit and Jill could do very nicely out of it. Amanda's
not happy, but Wayne says he's
just being practical - Jill's a single mother and could do with the money.
He adds that they should get
Sean out of there before Andy realises there's a stranger around.

Later, Wayne and Amanda
are with Sean by his car. Sean asks them to keep his arrival to themselves
-
he wants to handle it in his own manner. Wayne agrees. Sean says goodbye and
thanks them for their
hospitality. He drives off.
Later, John has arrived at Woombai and complains about hitching a ride there
from Melbourne. He asks
where Andy is. Wayne says he's in the spare bedroom with Stephen. John decides
to go in and see Andy
and Wayne tells him not to expect a warm welcome - Andy's getting worse. John
walks out. Amanda says
she thinks John might be able to help with Jill, as he knows how she is. She
says they should ask him if
they should tell Jill about Mr. O'Donnell. Wayne reminds her they told Sean
they wouldn't. Amanda says
too bad - she's got a terrible feeling about it and if John says Jill's in
a mess, she's going to call. She
adds that at least Jill will have a chance to prepare herself. Wayne says
it's up to her.
