At Toorak, there is a knock on the door. Wayne
emerges from the living room and Amanda comes down the
stairs. Wayne lets Patricia in and the three go into the living room, where
they sit down. Patricia asks
if Jill is there, and Amanda says no. Patricia says she'll catch up with her
later. Patricia tells them
that John has told her they're renting out the house, and asks them if they'd
rent it to her. Wayne and
Amanda look shocked and Wayne asks Patricia why she'd want to live there.
Patricia says she's always
loved the place - it holds a lot of happy memories for her. She adds that
she and David would be living
there - she wants to get him out of Margaret's flat so he isn't constantly
reminded of her. Wayne says
it isn't a very good idea, but Patricia tells him she now wants to be friends
with her family. Amanda
seems okay with the plan, but Wayne tells her they should discuss it privately.
Amanda tells Patricia
that Wayne and her can talk now, and they'll be back in a minute. She leaves
the room, followed by
Wayne. They go into the dining room, where Wayne says he doesn't trust Patricia.
Amanda says that
she's changed - Margaret dying has really knocked her about. Wayne says that's
what they're supposed
to think - he doesn't want her back in their lives. Amanda tells him that
Patricia living there doesn't
mean they'll have to have anything to do with her. Wayne says there's no way
Patricia's changed.
Amanda tells him if he can do it, so can she. Wayne says all right, but tells
Amanda not to say he didn't
warn her. Amanda hugs him, and Wayne says he wonders what Patricia wants to
see Jill about.
As Patricia walks from the house, she meets Jill. She tells Jill she was waiting
to see her. Jill tells her
she was sorry to hear about Margaret and asks what she wants to see her about.
Patricia tells her she
wants to make her an offer about Robin.

A short time later, Jill is in the living room
with Amanda and Wayne. She tells them she couldn't believe
her ears. Wayne says he BETS she couldn't - why would Patricia make an offer
like that? Jill says
Patricia wants to put Margaret's money to good use and she feels guilty about
Robin. Amanda says she
thinks it's terrific, and she really has changed. She nudges Wayne, who isn't
convinced. Jill says she
knows she's said some dreadful things about Patricia, but it's taken a load
off her mind. She tells them
she has to get to hospital and tell Dr. Jackson the good news. Jill leaves
and Amanda says it's about time
something good happened to her. Wayne remarks that when has Patricia ever
been good for anyone? He
tells Amanda he'd better talk to her - she's not going to get her hooks into
Jill. Amanda tells him to keep
out of it. Wayne says no - Patricia's up to something, and he's going to find
out what. He gets up and
leaves, and Amanda looks fed up.
Later, Wayne arrives at the flat. He tells Patricia she might have fooled
Jill and Amanda, but not him.
Patricia asks him what he thinks she's going to get out of helping Robin.
Wayne says he thought about it
on his way over there, and there are two ways she can go now Margaret's dead.
She can be sensible and
get on with her own life, or she can get everyone responsible for Margaret
being on the plane when it
crashed - Gordon, Fiona, him, Beryl Palmer.... Patricia tells him he isn't
making any sense - if she blamed
all of them for Margaret's death, why would she want to help Robin? Wayne
tells her she's trying to get
Jill on side so she can use her against them. Patricia says all she wants
is a chance to prove herself.
Wayne tells her she doesn't get any chances with him - not after the way she
treated him and Amanda.
He tells her she can still rent the house - that way he can keep an eye on
her, and every move she makes,
he'll block. Patricia tells him she hopes he finds out in time how wrong he
is about her.

Later, Jill arrives at the flat. She tells Patricia
she didn't think she'd want to help her after she caused
the blow up between her and Stephen at Woombai. Patricia says she's partly
responsible for Robin being
where he is - now she's in a position to help. Jill tells her she's grateful
and Patricia remarks that she
needs all the friends she can get at the moment. She asks Jill how things
are with Fiona. Jill says she
phones her about a dozen times a day, but the detective agency doesn't have
any leads on Terry yet.
Patricia tells Jill she's glad she accepted her offer. Jill asks why she wouldn't.
Patricia says she could
have thought she had an ulterior motive, like Wayne - he was there earlier
making all sorts of stupid
accusations. Jill says Amanda's been trying to get him to change, and wouldn't
be too happy to hear about
him having a go at her. Patricia says she hopes it doesn't cause problems
between them.
At Toorak, Wayne tells Amanda she's hardly spoken to him since he got back.
Amanda moans that he had
to do it, even though she asked him not to. She complains that it's supposed
to be their second honeymoon.
She adds that she's never cared much for Patricia, but she's just lost her
sister. Wayne says that she's
up to something, and wants to get back at them. Amanda says she can't believe
that while Patricia's half
in shock she's going around plotting against everyone. She tells Wayne he
always thinks the worst, and
she's beginning to think he'll never change. Wayne tells her to forget it
- they've only got a couple of
days before they go back. He says they should just try and think about themselves.
Amanda nods glumly.
At the flat, Jill tells Patricia that Wayne was jealous about the amount of
time Amanda was spending
with Andy. She says that they're determined to make a go of it, and they think
having a baby might help.
Patricia says that a baby would just tie Amanda to Wayne, and make it more
difficult for her if she
wanted to leave. She tells Jill that maybe she should point it out to her.
Jill says she doesn't think it's
anybody else's business. Patricia says of course not, and she's quite right.
