Patricia arrives at Toorak and Amanda lets her
in. She tells Patricia that David took a lot of their stuff
to Sydney with him, so they don't have to wait around for the removalists.
Patricia asks what time they're
leaving and Amanda says in half an hour. Patricia says it's a pity - she thought
they might have time for a
drink and a chat. Amanda asks if she'll miss Matt Kennedy and Patricia says
yes. She tells her she'll miss
her too - she feels as if she's just found a friend and now she's losing her.
Patricia tells her she was
very kind to her when Margaret died, and she felt very sorry she hadn't bothered
to take an interest in
her. She adds that she'd love to hear how things are going with her - surely
ten minutes won't hurt?
Amanda says all right and goes to get Patricia a drink. Patricia looks at
her.
A short time later, the pair are talking. Patricia says it must have been
a strain on both of them, having the
business with Terry and Fee in the house. Amanda says it was a bit, and she
can't understand why Terry
took Fee - he must have known he'd get in trouble. Patricia says she knows
how he felt - she was pretty
desperate when she abandoned John. Amanda says she can't understand that.
Patricia tells her there were
a lot more pressures on them when she was her age. Patricia tells her at least
she can choose the right
time to have her child. Amanda
looks thoughtful and says she guesses they DO take a lot for granted.
Patricia continues that she can make sure she's in a stable marriage before
she brings any children into
the world. Amanda looks distant and says yes. Wayne calls out and Amanda shouts
to him. She tells Patricia
she has to go, and Patricia apologises for getting a bit heavy. Amanda tells
her she made a lot of sense.
Wayne comes in and tells his wife the taxi's there. She tells him to give
her a couple of minutes. Wayne
tells her he'll take the bags out. He stares at Patricia and walks out. Amanda
says goodbye to Patricia,
and the two hug. Amanda goes out into the hall and tells Wayne he shouldn't
have been so rude -
he could have said "Hello".

Wayne says "Why be a hypocrite?" Patricia
is eavesdropping and hears Amanda tell Wayne he's insensitive
and selfish. Wayne tells her to wake up to herself - Patricia's bad news.
She's only been in the house
five minutes at they're at each other's throats. Amanda tells him it's his
fault. Patricia smiles slyly.
That evening, Wayne and Amanda arrive at Dural and are met by Andy. Wayne
goes out to get a takeaway
and Amanda and Andy go into the living room. Andy tells Amanda he's going
to become a one man band.
Wayne doesn't look happy as he leaves the house.
Later, Andy tells Amanda he fronts up at a party and DJs for the rest of the
night - a sort of mobile
disco. He says it's a two man operation and asks Amanda if she'd like to be
the woman on the team.
Amanda says she'd love to and will go with him to pick up the gear tomorrow.
Andy asks her what happens
if Wayne doesn't want her working. Amanda says it's her life, and tells Andy
her and Wayne had a row
just before they left Melbourne, and didn't do much talking on the plane.
Amanda
says who knows -
tomorrow they might be on one of their highs again. Andy says it doesn't sound
like much fun, and she says
it isn't. Andy asks her what she's going to do about it. Amanda says keep
on trying to make their marriage
work - and put off having a family until she's sure it will. Andy says no
wonder Wayne was in a rotten
mood. Amanda says he doesn't know about it yet, and she's not going to tell
him. Andy tells her that's
not very fair, but Amanda says she'd never be able to convince him she's doing
the right thing. She
adds that Wayne can be so callous and vindictive it makes her want to walk
out sometimes, and can
be so wonderful when he wants to. She says she still loves him. Andy says
she should be honest with
him. Amanda says she can't - he'd be so hurt. Andy says he'd be more hurt
if he found out. Amanda
tells him she'll have to make sure he doesn't.

At Toorak, Patricia tells Jill she wishes she'd
come and stayed with her. Jill says she's confused about
Fiona. Patricia says she knew she'd give her a hard time about calling the
police in. Jill says she wasn't
until that day - one minute it was all smiles and the next as though she couldn't
stand the sight of her.
Patricia says it makes her very angry to see the way Fiona treats her. She
continues that Fiona's being
selfish - in her shoes she'd have called the police in ten seconds flat. Jill
says that Terry's been
charged with abduction and could get two years. Patricia says they usually
let first offenders off
on a good behaviour bond, but she could check it out with an old solicitor
friend of Stephen's. She
tells Jill to get her a drink while she makes the call.
A while later, Patricia comes off the phone to 'Malcolm' and goes back into
the living room, and tells
Jill that Terry could get five years if she's a hostile witness. Jill says
she'll do everything to help
him, and Patricia says then he'll get two years minimum. She tells Jill that
Fiona didn't give her all
the information - if she tells the court that Terry's the natural father,
she could be up on a fraud
charge. She tells Jill that she's coming a very bad last with Fiona these
days. Jill says maybe she
didn't know about it. Patricia says that Terry's solicitor is bound to have
mentioned it. Jill says that
any time there's a choice between her and Terry, there's no contest. She adds
that, if that's the way
Fiona wants it, she going to have to start putting herself first. Patricia
takes a sip of her drink, and
looks very pleased with herself.
