In the Dural flat, Amanda hugs Wayne and tells
him it makes her so happy. Wayne says that's all that
matters. Amanda says she could hardly sleep last night, worrying about how
he would react when she told
him she was going to work with Andy. Wayne apologises for making a bit of
a song and dance over
breakfast, and says it would be unfair to expect her to sit around and twiddle
her thumbs until they
start a family. Amanda turns away and says those things can take time. Wayne
hugs her and says he can't
wait until they start a family but until then, he promises not to keep her
wrapped up in cotton wool.
Amanda tells him fair enough, but looks very awkward.
Later, Amanda and Andy are in the house. He asks her if she could change her
mind about starting a
family, and she says no. Amanda tells him that yesterday she left a message
for her doctor to write out a
prescription. Andy offers to pick it up, but Amanda says she'll go to the
surgery that afternoon. She
notices some of her things in boxes on the floor. Gordon appears and she asks
him if David's there, but
Gordon tells her he was in a hurry to get away.
The phone rings in the flat, and Wayne comes in and answers it. It is the
receptionist at the doctor's
surgery, who tells Wayne that the doctor would like to see Amanda before he
makes out a prescription.
Wayne tells the woman that he's Amanda's husband and would like to know what
the prescription is for
- if she's sick he has a right to know. The woman tells him it's just for
some contraceptive pills. Wayne
puts the phone down and looks stunned.
Wayne
is sitting in the flat looking totally deflated when there is a knock on the
door and Gordon comes
in. He shows Wayne a file containing the latest figures from the Woombai Riding
School, and Wayne says
he'll read them when he gets a chance. Gordon knows something's wrong and
asks Wayne what's the matter.

Gordon finds out it's Amanda that's the trouble
and asks what happened. Wayne says nothing - and it's
not likely to either. He says Amanda's done a great con job on him. Wayne
says their marriage has been
going through a rough spot - he thought he could save it. Amanda did too -
at least that's what she kept
telling him. Wayne says he wanted to start a family and Amanda agreed. He
tells Gordon that the
receptionist called about a prescription, and that Amanda hasn't the slightest
intention of having kids.
Gordon says he's sorry. Wayne tells him he feels like the number one prize
sucker of the year. Gordon
tells him he should talk it over with her. Wayne says he's bent over backwards
to do the right thing by
Andy, just to please Amanda. Gordon says he's sure it's nothing to do with
him, and tells Wayne he
should wait until Amanda gets back. Wayne says that when Amanda gets back
he wants him to kick her
out of the house, because either she goes or he does. He walks out.
A while later, Wayne is walking through the grounds of the house. He whacks
a tree branch in anger.
Andy's van drives up to the house, and he and Amanda get out. He asks her
if she's impressed, and
she says she loves it and can't wait until they go out on their first job.
Andy says they should go and
get Barbara and show her.
Amanda and Andy enter the house, and Barbara tells him that she and Gordon
would like a word with
Amanda. Andy goes to make a sandwich and Amanda asks what's up.
Out on the driveway, Wayne walks up to Andy's van and opens the back doors.
In a fit of rage, he
picks up all the disco equipment and throws it out the back, smashing it onto
the floor.....
