Later that night, Amanda and Andy arrive back at
the apartment. Amanda has her arms draped around one
bloke and Andy doesn't look too pleased. A couple put the stereo on loud but
Andy tells them to turn it down.
He asks Amanda what the big idea is. Amanda says she's in a party mood. Andy
tells her she can't drag half
the crowd back there every time they work somewhere, and he doesn't even know
the people. Amanda says
she met Barry on holiday a couple of years ago and, if they're friends of
his, they're okay. She sits down
on the couch with Barry, and Andy looks annoyed.
Later, Andy is still watching Amanda and Barry when the phone rings. A bloke
answers it and Beryl is on
the other end. She asks to speak to Andy Green, but the man doesn't know him
and hangs up. A bit later,
Amanda has her arms draped around Barry again. Andy tells Barry he wants a
word, but Amanda tells him
to ignore Andy. Andy grabs Barry and drags him over towards the door, and
Amanda looks a bit unsteady
on her feet.
Lynn arrives at the apartment and knocks on the door. She realises the door
is ajar and peers in. Just
inside the door, Barry asks Andy who asked him to but in? Andy tells him he's
got every right to look after
Amanda. He asks Barry if he has to spell it out - they're living together.
Barry asks him if he and Amanda are
really shacked up together and Andy says yes. Barry says that Amanda never
said anything. Andy tells him
he's going to have a word with her now. Lynn is watching everything from the
door. Andy tells Amanda he's
stopped her making a fool of herself with Barry, and said a few things to
make him keep his distance. He
says "Just to make it look good...", and kisses Amanda passionately.
She is surprised and asks him what
he's doing. Andy tells her she'll thank him in the long run. Outside the door,
Lynn is distraught and sobbing.
She walks away from the apartment in tears.

The next morning, Amanda is holding her head and
gets a drink. Andy comes in and tells her the shower's
free. Amanda tells him not to speak to her after his stunt last night. Andy
tells her it was for her own good.
Amanda asks how he thinks she looked in Barry's eyes. Andy jokes that she
looked a lot better than she does
now! He says if she wants to live up to the bad reputation Wayne's given her,
she can go right ahead, but
she was just fooling around last night. He replaces the phone and it rings
immediately. He answers it and
Beryl is on the other end. She tells him she realises he might not be able
to talk if Lynn's there. Andy asks
why Lynn should be there. Beryl says Lynn's in a very bad way - she hasn't
eaten for ages and is very weak.
Andy asks why she should go there. Beryl says that Lynn seems to think her
only future is with him, and asks
him not to do anything rash. She adds that Lynn can only make a decision calmly
and with a lot of thought.
Andy tells Beryl he won't put any pressure on her - he can't forget how she
helped him when he was pretty
screwed up.
Later, Amanda and Andy are clearing up. Andy says that when Lynn arrives,
he's going to take her over to
the Hamiltons and make Barbara realise that nothing happened between them
at Woombai. Amanda wonders
why Lynn is taking so long to get there - she'll have arrived in Sydney last
night. She suggests that Lynn
might have gone straight to the Hamiltons. Andy says that she could be right
- David is there. Amanda tells
him he should ring them to let them know Lynn might be on the way. Andy says
he doesn't fancy catching
Wayne. Amanda says she'll ring - she can handle him.

At Dural, Lynn is sitting at the bar with Wayne,
downing a whiskey. Wayne tells her he'll soon have her
feeling as good as new. The phone rings and he answers it. It is Amanda, who
asks if there's any word on
Gordon. Wayne tells her he's stable. Amanda says she wants a word with him
about Lynn Palmer. Wayne
tells her to hang on a second, and goes out into the hall and sits on the
stairs. He asks Amanda how she
knew Lynn was there. Amanda is surprised and tells Andy about it. Andy tells
Amanda to tell Lynn to stay
put, and rushes off. Amanda tells Wayne that Andy's on his way. Wayne sarcastically
asks what he's
supposed to do - bake a cake? Amanda tells him he doesn't have to do anything
- Andy and Lynn will do
it all. Wayne asks what. Amanda says they'll make Auntie Barb wake up to him
and, once they've set her
straight, he'll be up the creek for good. She hangs up and Wayne looks concerned.
Later, Wayne comes down the stairs with Barbara. He tells her he wouldn't
have disturbed her if Lynn
hadn't been such a mess. Barbara tells him he did the right thing and goes
into the living room, where
Lynn is lying on the couch. There is a knock on the door and Wayne goes to
answer it. Barbara tells Lynn
she looks shocking and asks what she's been up to. Andy storms in, saying
he's not leaving until he's seen
Lynn. Barbara tells Wayne and Andy to pipe down - she's not in the mood for
their bickering.

Barbara tells Andy he can go and come back at another
time. Andy says he's not going until he sorts out one
thing. He tells Barbara that Wayne's been feeding her a pack of lies, and
Lynn's the only one who can set
the record straight. He goes over to Lynn on the couch and asks her to tell
Mrs. Hamilton about the night
they spent together at Woombai. He says all she has to do is tell her nothing
happened between them. Lynn
sobs that how can she, when they both know it did? Andy tells her she doesn't
know what she's saying, and
asks her why she's lying. Lynn starts crying, and Wayne says that she's finally
telling the truth - it might
have something to do with her overhearing that he's shacked up with Amanda.
Barbara asks if it's true.
Andy tells Lynn it's all a mistake and he can explain. Barbara tells him they've
had enough of his
explanations. Andy shouts that it isn't fair - everything's been twisted round
to make him look bad. He says
that Lynn doesn't know what she's saying, and he wants a chance to put HIS
side of the story. Barbara
tells him to go, and to tell Amanda she's disgusted with her as well. Andy
tells them he'll go - for Lynn's
sake. He leaves, and Lynn is crying her eyes out.
Later, at the apartment, Andy tells Amanda he thought he was doing the right
thing last night - how was he
supposed to know Lynn overheard and got the wrong idea? Amanda says there's
something funny - not matter
how upset Lynn was, she can't imagine her lying to Auntie Barb. She says she
thinks Wayne put her up to it -
he could get at him, and have an extra go at her at the same time. Amanda
says that once Lynn's calmed
down, she'll feel terrible about having lied, and is bound to tell Barbara.
Andy says they'd better keep
their fingers crossed that Lynn gets back on her feet quickly, because Wayne's
going to use every minute
to stick the knife into them. Amanda says it's only going to make Wayne look
worse when Lynn eventually
tells the truth - then they can REALLY pull the rug from under him.
