At the boarding house, Lynn is reading in bed when
there is a knock on her door. She asks who it is and
Amanda answers. Lynn opens the door and Amanda is standing there, looking
a state. Lynn asks what's
wrong and Amanda tells her it was awful, and she needs to be with someone
for a while. Lynn tells her
to sit down and she does. Amanda says "He forced me, Lynn. He forced
me." Lynn looks shocked.
A short time later, Amanda is looking down at Davey, and asks Lynn if she
loves him. Lynn says he means
everything to her. Amanda says she couldn't stand having Wayne's kid now.
Lynn says she doesn't mean
that. Amanda says she hates him - they used to have rough patches, but she
still couldn't help loving him.
She adds that, even when they separated, she still thought he was a really
caring guy but after tonight
- how wrong can you be? Lynn tells her not to think about it, but Amanda says
she'll never forgive him.
Patricia
arrives at the Palmer house and Beryl lets her in. Beryl tells her she's very
sorry about the business
with Paul and apologises. Patricia accepts and says she wants to see Terry
alone. Beryl starts to protest
but Terry, sitting in front of the television, says she's there now - they
might as well hear what she's got to
say for herself. Beryl goes into the kitchen and Patricia tells Terry she's
going to London tomorrow and
would like to set a few things straight. She says she realises he was only
trying to help the other night, and
would like to find a way to say thank you. Terry tells her there's no need
to go overboard. Patricia says she
wants to help - she's never had anything against him personally, as she was
just trying to get back at Fiona.

Terry asks how she's going to help. Patricia says
she thought she might talk to Jill, and explain how she tried
to turn her against him. She asks where Jill is, but Terry says he doesn't
know. He gives Patricia a card and
says that a bloke called Luke Carlyle took her, and that's his number, but
he wouldn't tell him anything.
Patricia thanks him, and says she'll call first thing in the morning. She
wishes him good luck in court
and leaves. Terry looks suspicious.
The next morning, Patricia phones the number and asks to speak to Luke Carlyle.
Roger answers and tells
Patricia that he's not in at the moment, and asks if he can take a message.
Patricia tells him her name and
says she's a friend of Terry Hansen's. She says that she's leaving for London
and needs to speak to Jill
first - Terry told her Jill was staying with Luke. She asks Roger to tell
Luke to get Jill to phone her. Roger
says okay, but he thought Jill was trying to get away from Terry and his friends.
Patricia says that's what
she's trying to sort out - she may have influenced Jill against Terry. At
Roger's flat, Luke comes in. Roger
tells Patricia that he'll pass it on. They hang up. Luke asks who it was,
and Roger says no one important.
At
the boarding house, Amanda is brushing her hair. She thanks Lynn for letting
her stay and for listening
to her. She says that a good night's sleep put things right, and she's fine
now. Lynn asks her if she's sure
she's not just saying that. Amanda says of course. Lynn says she doesn't have
to go back to Melbourne
straight away - she could stay on for a week or so. Amanda gives her the hair
brush back and says thanks.
She picks up her handbag, and Lynn tells her she can be honest with her -
how does she really feel? Amanda
says terrible. Lynn says she'll stay on and help her get over things. Amanda
suggests that she moves in with
her - there's heaps more room than in there, and Wayne wouldn't dare barge
in if he knew she was there.
Lynn says it suits her, and she can move in that morning. Amanda tells her
to make it that afternoon, as she
should have her new car by then - a little idea she got lying awake last night.
She tells Lynn she'll tell her
about it later, and leaves. Lynn smiles and shakes her head.

A short time later, Amanda arrives at Dural and
gets out of a cab. After the cab drives off, she stands
there looking unsure for a while, then knocks on the door. Gordon answers
the door and kisses Amanda.
Wayne, looking worried, makes for the kitchen, but Barbara appears and asks
what's going on. Wayne
tells her Amanda's there. Amanda comes in, puts her arms around Wayne and
gives him a kiss. Wayne looks
surprised. Amanda tells him that, after what he promised her last night, she
thought he deserved a surprise!
Amanda asks Gordon if he knows how kind his son can be. Gordon says of course
- it runs in the family.
Amanda asks him when was the last time he bought Barbara a news sports car.
Wayne looks concerned.
Gordon asks her if Wayne's bought a new sports car. Amanda laughs and says
Wayne's mad, but she loves
him. Wayne doesn't look too pleased! Amanda says she's got her eye on two
gorgeous convertibles,
and leads Wayne out. Gordon tells his wife it looks like the reconciliation's
taken a turn for the better.
Barbara says yes it does, but she looks suspicious.
Outside,
Amanda is walking along followed by Wayne. He tells her he supposes she thinks
it's cute
getting back at him - he can't afford to go around buying sports cars whenever
he feels like it. Amanda
shouts that they should get one thing straight - if he expects her to play
Little Miss Lovey-Dovey in front
of Gordon, she expects to get paid for it. Wayne tells her he did a very stupid
thing last night and she has
every right to be angry, but she should see it from his side of things. He
was drunk, convinced that Gordon
could die any day and still hadn't given him a grandchild. Amanda tells him
he's pathetic - what he did last
night is absolutely unforgivable. Wayne tells her he said he was wrong - what
does she want him to say?
Amanda tells him he can't say anything to make her forget the way he treated
her. She says either they buy
a car or they go back inside and tell Gordon they're separating for good.
Wayne says nothing.

Jill, Luke and Fee arrive at Toorak and Patricia
lets them in. She tells them she's glad they finally made it.
Jill tells her she's acting like she was expecting them. Patricia says she
was, and tells Luke she left a
message with his father asking him to get Jill to ring her. Luke says he never
got any message. Patricia asks
them what they're doing there, and Jill says she wanted to see how she was.
Luke asks Patricia when she
phoned him, and says it's not like his dad to forget. They sit down and Jill
asks Patricia how she's been.
Patricia says she's been organising a trip to London, and is leaving late
that evening. Patricia tells Jill she
wanted to talk to her about Terry, and asks her not to give him a hard time
at the trial - he doesn't deserve
it. Luke looks concerned.
Later, Luke has left. Jill tells Patricia the taxi's on it's way. Jill asks
Patricia if she minds looking after
Fee, but Patricia says she'll be company until David gets there. She thanks
Jill for giving her a chance to
explain, and Jill thanks her for keeping up Robin's treatment. Patricia asks
Jill if she hates her for the way
she treated Terry, but Jill says of course not - why would she hate her for
telling the truth? Patricia asks
her what she really thinks of her - it's important. Jill says she really likes
her - she can be kind and caring,
but she can be her own worst enemy too. She adds that she always has to size
everyone up and then try to
win them or use them, or hate them if they don't do what she wants. Jill tells
her she can't simply accept
people as they are. Patricia says she knows. She tells Jill that she's tried
to change, and maybe Matt will be
able to help. Jill wishes her good luck. Patricia asks her what she's going
to say about Terry at the trial.
Jill says nothing bad - the last thing she wants to do is put him in jail.
