At the apartment, Amanda is on the phone to one
of her boyfriends. She tells 'Guy' she can't wait until
that night. Lynn, sitting on the couch, doesn't look too pleased. When Amanda
hangs up, she notices the
look on Lynn's face and says she sorry if she made her jealous. Lynn says
she came to stay because of the
way she felt after Wayne attacked her, but all she's done is carry on with
a lot of old boyfriends.
Amanda says she's just enjoying herself. Lynn complains that it makes it difficult
when she brings them
home so late, and they're usually drunk - it's unsettling Davey. Amanda says
she doesn't see why she can't
relax a bit. Lynn tells her she agrees, but she isn't going about it the right
way. Amanda nastily says she
doesn't see what makes HER an expert all of a sudden. Davey starts crying
out from the bedroom. Lynn
tells Amanda she's going to take him over to Irene's to see if any letters
have arrived. She adds that
maybe they can have a talk when she gets back. Amanda looks glum.
Later, Lynn arrives back with Davey. Amanda sarcastically says there must
have been a stack of mail - she's
been gone long enough, or was it more mumsies over at Irene's? Lynn says she's
had a think, and tells
Amanda if she carries on behaving the way she has been, she's going back to
Melbourne. Amanda says she
thought she was her friend. Lynn tells her she's not making it very easy.
She says she knows it's difficult
for her at the moment, but she doesn't think it's right or good for her. Lynn
adds that it's not good for
Davey. Amanda protests that he's too young to know anything. Lynn says that
he's old enough to sense things.
She tells Amanda, unless she starts getting her act together, she'll spend
the rest of her time there with her
Mum and Dad. She takes Davey off to bed.

There is a knock at the door. Amanda, looking fed
up, answers it and isn't pleased to see Wayne there.
He tells her it's important that they talk. Amanda tells him Lynn's there,
in case he has any ideas. Wayne
says that surely she realises he was drunk the other night? He tells her he
wouldn't hurt her for the world.
Wayne follows her in and says he's truly sorry. Amanda tells him he didn't
come there to say that, and asks
what he wants. Wayne says they've got a disaster on their hands, and they
have to keep it from Gordon. He
explains that the two major investments of the company have gone bust, and
they need money to hold the
creditors off until they can sort out the mess.. Amanda says that Barbara's
got her own company - she can
help out. Wayne tells her it won't be enough. Amanda tells him he'll have
to dig into his own pockets - he got
as much as her from Dee's will. Wayne explains he put everything he had into
the company. Amanda angrily
asks him if he expects her money to bail him out. Wayne says he has a right
to it - he's still her husband, and
she wouldn't have it if it wasn't for him. Amanda shouts that he's got the
gall to stand there, and whatever
money she's got, she's going to keep for herself. Wayne says that if Gordon
finds out, it could kill him. He
tells her he needs her help. Amanda asks him if he really means it, and Wayne
grudgingly says yes. Amanda
smugly tells him that he's going to have to grovel for it.....
