At the beach, Todd gets off a windsurfing board
and joins Amanda. She remarks that he's a reckless
driver. Todd tells her he likes to live dangerously. Amanda says it's a hard
act to follow. Todd says they
should try for some inspiration. He takes a bottle of wine from his bag, saying
he's fed up with drinking in
bars. Amanda tells him not to get drunk - she doesn't want him sailing into
Australia on a hydrofoil. Todd
remarks that you should experience everything life has to offer at least once.
He tells her not to look so
worried, as he's got a long list of things he wants to do before he checks
out - he'll leave the hydrofoil for
the finale.
Later, the pair are relaxing on the couch in the apartment. Amanda says they
should finish the champagne.
Todd says he's got a better idea! Amanda tells him they've got one small problem,
and points at Davey, who
is standing by the bedroom. Todd suggests they go back to his place and Amanda
agrees, saying she has to
tuck Davey in first. Todd remarks that he doesn't sleep as soundly as his
mother. Amanda picks Davey up,
who starts crying. She takes him into the bedroom. Todd starts looking through
a brochure.
At the boarding house, Irene is looking through a photo album, with pictures
of Todd as a child.....
The next day at the apartment, Amanda tells Lynn it wasn't a one night stand
- from now on, Todd's the
one and only. Lynn is dubious, but tells her it's nice to see her so happy.
Amanda tells her that Todd can
pack more living into one day than most people can in a lifetime. She adds
that he spends money like it's
going out of fashion, and his dad foots all the bills. Lynn tells her she
certainly can pick them! Amanda
says she likes Todd more than Wayne - no sulks or grudges, he's just interested
in having a good time.
