At
the apartment, Amanda tells Todd she can't understand why anyone would want
to try sky diving. Todd
says it's a lot of fun. Amanda asks him if he doesn't get a little bit frightened,
and Todd says of course -
but his body works off adrenaline. Amanda says it sounds like a death wish
to her. Todd's face drops and
he tells her it's not like that at all. Amanda says she was only joking and
asks if he's seen Irene again. Todd
says he decided not to, and doesn't want to talk about her. He asks Amanda
if there's any chance she'll give
sky diving a go. Amanda assures him she'll stay firmly on the ground. Todd
calls her a chicken and she jokes
that at least she'll be a LIVE chicken! The pair leave.
Later, Amanda is pouring drinks and says she needs a strong one. She tells
Todd he nearly gave her a heart
attack pretending his chute wouldn't open. She sits next to Todd and gives
him a drink, and is amazed when
he downs it in one. Amanda tells him he's a chip off the old block - Irene
doesn't do things by halves either.
Todd says he doesn't want to turn out like her, and Amanda asks him what he's
got against Irene. Todd says
that she walked out on him and his dad, and is now trying to tell him it wasn't
like that. He adds that there
was a court case and Irene gave him the transcripts of it the other day, but
they were stolen with the
radio from his car. Todd says it doesn't make any difference - his dad's already
told him the story. Amanda
asks Todd if he wants to hear the other side, but he says there's no point.
Amanda tells him it sounds to her
like he's scared of what he might find out. She says he should see Irene again
- it can't hurt to hear her
side of the story.
