Todd is unrepentant.Todd isn't too well.Amanda finds the card.I'm dying.
Back at the apartment, Amanda shouts at Todd that Irene's a very nice lady and he made her feel rotten.
She adds that she doesn't blame her for being disappointed in him. Todd says that Irene saw him as he
really is, and if she doesn't like it - too bad. Amanda shouts that he knew he was making a fool of himself
but he kept on doing it. Todd says he had one too many - so what? He asks why it matters. Amanda says it's
because she's his mother and the whole reason was to try and get to know each other. Todd says Irene
doesn't want him - she wants a three year old kid she had years ago. He clutches his side and Amanda asks
if he's all right. He says not really and rushes off, saying he'll be back in a minute.
A short time later, Todd returns, looking very ill. He says he needs a doctor. Amanda helps him onto the
couch and says she'll call an ambulance. Todd tells her to get onto his doctor - his name and number are on
a card in his wallet. Amanda says he might not be able to come - it's a Sunday. Todd assures her he'll come
and gives her the wallet. Amanda takes the card out and rushes to the phone. Todd is in great pain.
A while later, Todd is lying on the couch and the doctor is there. Amanda tells him she didn't think she'd
be able to get him, it being a Sunday. The doctor asks her to leave them alone for a few minutes, and she
goes to the kitchen. The doctor tells Todd he presumes the young lady doesn't know the facts. Todd shakes
his head. The doctor tells him he can't mix alcohol with the tablets he's on, and it's a good job he didn't
drive - he could have had an accident and killed himself.

I'm okay!Amanda's not amused.See you later!She's not happy.
Todd says that might have been the best way - it would have solved everything. The doctor tells him that's
a terrific attitude, and he thought he was more of a fighter. Todd tells him he doesn't know what it's like,
nobody does. He asks him how he would feel messing about with all that treatment, knowing it's not making
any difference. Todd says he's dying, and there's nothing anybody can do about it.
After the doctor has left, Todd tells Amanda he's okay and, once the injection works, he'll be ready for
a night on the town. Amanda tells him it's not something to joke about - the way he looked before, she
thought he was going to die. Todd says there's nothing to worry about - that's the way he always looks
after a few drinks. Amanda tells him he might think it's something to laugh about, but the doctor didn't,
otherwise he wouldn't have got there twenty minutes after she phoned. She adds that specialists don't
normally make house calls. Todd jokes it's a good job Irene didn't ring - he'd have ended up with a
herbalist! Amanda says that isn't very funny. Todd says sorry, and Amanda tells him he should have said
that to Irene. Todd admits that he acted like a jerk, but there's nothing he can do about it now. He
invites her to a picnic. Amanda shouts that it's his answer to everything - forget it and go out and have
a good time. Todd says why not? Amanda says that sooner or later he has to face up to responsibilities.
Todd says he doesn't want to, and asks her if she's coming out for a good time or not. Amanda says no
thanks. Todd says he'll find someone else then. He turns to leave and Amanda tells him that it was his
mother he hurt today, and him going out for a good time isn't going to make her feel any better. Todd
tells her he'll see her later, and leaves. Amanda looks upset.
