Jill arrives.Pat's down in the dumps.Todd appearsWayne starts the insults.
Later, Patricia is on the phone to Matt when Jill comes in. She's telling him it's over, and there's nothing
to say. When she hangs up, Jill jokingly asks if she wants her to go back out and come in again! Patricia
tells her she must realise by now that she and Matt didn't part on the best of terms. They go into the
living room. Patricia tells Jill she should have seen the look on Matt's face when she turned up on the
doorstep. She says by the end of the first week she realised she'd made a big mistake - there was someone
else. She adds that she had to find out herself - Matt didn't tell her, as he was worried she'd go to pieces.
Patricia says that, when Gordon rang to tell her about the company, it gave her a reason to come home.
She sits down and tells Jill that she's been too ashamed to tell anybody what really happened. Jill asks
why. Patricia says it's because it makes her look like a failure. Jill says it doesn't. Patricia complains that
her personal life is one disaster after another. She adds that she's always been blaming somebody else,
but it's not - it's her.
At the Fisher house, Wayne and Karen are working. Wayne goes to get some more coffee and there is a
knock on the door. Karen answers it and Amanda comes in. She says she came to see how Todd was. Karen
tells her he was still sleeping the last time she looked. Amanda asks her if she knew he had another dizzy
spell at Irene's and Karen says she was told. Then Todd comes in and tells them he's alive and kicking. He
asks Amanda if he's still invited for dinner that night, and she says yes - if he's up to it. Wayne comes in
and, seeing Amanda, says "There goes a pleasant day."

I'm not interested.Todd has a go at Wayne.Jill is shocked.I can't pay anymore.
Amanda says hello and Wayne asks her if she's still dining out and telling people what he does for a living.
Amanda tells him she couldn't care less how he made his money. Wayne says she cared enough to tell Karen
he worked for an escort agency. Amanda says she doesn't want to talk about it. Wayne goads her by saying
that most of the women he's met have more class in their little finger than she ever had. Todd tells him
that's enough. Wayne tells him to butt out - he's not talking to him. Todd tells him he's not talking to anyone
else like that under his roof - Amanda's there to see HIM. He asks Karen to take Wayne into the study to
work. Karen and Wayne collect their papers and leave the room. Amanda says it's nice to find someone who
can put Wayne in his place. Todd says it's the principle - he'd do it for anyone. Amanda tells him that he
did it for her, and it was lovely.
At Toorak, Patricia is eating a meal. Jill comes in and says she has been to the hospital and has good news.
She says she was talking to one of the specialists, who told her about a new technique in manipulation
therapy developed in Sydney, and they're going to fly Robin up there tonight to start him on it. Patricia tells
Jill she can't go on paying for Robin's treatment. Jill is shocked and tells her she can't pull out now. Patricia
says that every cent she owns is going to be tied up in the company. Jill tells her they're talking about
someone's life. Patricia says they're talking about someone who's never going to recover, and she's heard
about the new technique. She adds that they're just experimenting - Robin will be a guinea pig for them.
Patricia says she doesn't like doing it, but she has to throw herself into something completely to keep her
mind off everything else. She apologises and leaves the table. Jill looks gutted.

Todd fantasises.Amanda questions Todd.I never waste my time.Patricia isn't impressed.
At the apartment, Todd is on the phone to Irene while Amanda reads a magazine. He tells Irene he doesn't
know what he'd have done without her - that virus really knocked him for six. He says it was great talking
to her that morning about....you know. Amanda looks up from her magazine. Irene says she'll always be
around when he needs an ear. Todd tells her Amanda is insisting they celebrate his first day at the boatyard
with champagne, and asks if she can make it. Irene tells him wild horses wouldn't keep her away. Todd tells
her to be there at eight o'clock the next morning. They say goodbye and hang up. Todd jokingly says
"Alan Bond, watch out. Here comes Todd Fisher!" Amanda imagines a clear sky and a gentle sea as they
glide though the Sydney heads. She asks Todd where they're heading, and he says the world. He imagines
drifting along with the sun pouring down on them. Amanda says it would be wonderful and Todd replies
that stranger things have happened. Amanda asks him if he thinks she won't be around to be with him.
Todd asks her if she will. Amanda says yes, unless he tells her to get lost. Todd tells her no chance.
The next morning, Amanda, Todd, Irene and Harry are sitting in the boatyard with a bottle of champagne.
Amanda goes to get the glasses and Harry is called away to sign for something. Irene gives Todd a sailor's
cap and says she was given it by his new boss when they went on a Mediterranean cruise. Todd thanks her.
At Toorak, there is a knock on the door and Patricia answers it. Karen is there and introduces herself. She
tells Patricia she must have lots of questions about her proposal to rescue the company. Patricia says not
really - she's perfectly capable of acquainting herself with the facts without a visit from her. Karen says
they could discuss the details. Patricia coldly cuts her off and says they won't do that either, so she can
save the false charm. Karen tells her she never wastes her time, and she'll realise that after they've had
their little discussion. Karen says "Believe me, you're going to be interested in what I've got to say."
Patricia looks at her, unimpressed.....
