Amanda
is tidying the apartment when Todd comes in with good news. He tells her that
Harry is going to use
some of his ideas in the yacht he's building. Todd says that's why he's late
- they were drawing up a few
plans. He asks if he's forgiven. Amanda says yes, but he shouldn't do it again
- being without him all day is
bad enough, without half the night. Todd says it's important to him - a chance
to leave something behind that
he's helped to create. Amanda says she bets he's glad Irene kept on at him
about meeting Harry. They hug
and Amanda says that families are good for some things. Todd says sometimes
he wishes he had one of his
own, but it's a bit late for that. Amanda looks thoughtful.
Later, Wayne is there with Amanda. He tells her that he still loves her and
hoped that she wanted to give
their marriage another go. Amanda says not after what he did to her. She adds
that she thought she loved
him once, but now she realises she was just feeling sorry for him - being
with Todd has made her see that.
Wayne tells her he's heard about Todd - he's had a whole string of girlfriends
and she's just another one
on his list. Amanda angrily tells him that he doesn't have any idea - she
loves Todd and is going to have
his baby. Wayne looks hurt and storms out. Amanda looks rueful.
A while later, Karen arrives at the apartment to pick up Wayne for a meeting.
Amanda tells her he's gone.
Karen says there's something that's been worrying her. Barbara emerges from
the kitchen area and isn't
happy to see Karen. Karen tells Amanda that Todd's very taken with her, and
she wouldn't like to think
she was leading him on if there was any chance of her getting back together
with Wayne. Amanda says her
marriage to Wayne is over. Karen says she's relieved for Todd's sake and leaves.
Amanda tells Barbara
it's nice to know that Karen cares. Barbara sarcastically says, "Isn't
it just."
