At night, Stephen and
Caroline arrive home at the apartment to find Amanda looking through some
old photos.
She tells them she'd forgotten she had so many. Amanda shows Caroline one
photo, and her mother says who
would have thought she'd ever wear skirts so short! Amanda shows Stephen another
photo, and says it's of
her and Samantha when they were about thirteen and fourteen. Stephen tells
her at that age, they only had two
interests - boys and how to get money out of him. Caroline looks at a photo
of her and Stephen at a party and
looks miserable. Amanda says she remembers - it was their last anniversary
party. Caroline tells them she'll
go and get ready for bed. Amanda asks Stephen what upset her, and Stephen
says the photo did. He says it
was a terrible thing to do at an anniversary party - he asked Caroline for
a divorce. Stephen tells his daughter
he'd better go and see how Caroline is. He leaves, and Amanda looks at the
photo again.
The next morning over breakfast, Amanda tells Caroline she can't stop thinking
about the previous night - how
upset she was when she saw the photo. Caroline says it happened a long time
ago, but Amanda tells her she
still seems very bitter. Caroline says she's over it now, and is glad Stephen
and her are back together again.

Amanda asks Caroline if
she's not trying to get back at her dad in some way. Caroline says of course
not - she
really loves Stephen and wants it to work this time, and thought she did too.
Amanda says she does, as long as
she really feels that way. Caroline tells her that Stephen knows she does,
and doesn't see why she should have
any doubts. Amanda says she doesn't want to see anyone get hurt. Caroline
tells her to stop worrying, as
everything's going to be fine. Amanda looks at her suspiciously.
At bit later, Amanda tells Caroline she has to go for a job interview, and
might pop in to see Fiona afterwards.
She says she'll be home some time that afternoon. Amanda says goodbye to her
parents, gives her dad a kiss
and leaves. Caroline kisses Stephen and he jokes he is doing well that morning!
Caroline apologises for being
so uptight the previous night, and Stephen tells her she should get rid of
the photo. Caroline tells him there were
a lot of good times, and Stephen agrees. Caroline shows him her engagement
ring, and tells him she was
looking at it. Stephen takes it
and puts it on her finger. The pair hug, and Caroline smiles smugly behind
his back.
Amanda and Andy walk into Andy's bedsit at the boarding house. Amanda tells
Andy that Fiona has told her
what happened. Andy says he can't help thinking what Helena looked like when
Father Martin brought her there.
Amanda tells him she'll be okay - she's not a child. Andy says she's not far
off it, and can't look after herself in
a strange country. He says he can't understand why Helena didn't come back.

Amanda says maybe Helena's
staying away because of him - she probably doesn't want to hurt him anymore.
Andy says that there's bound to be trouble, and they'd be better off facing
it together. Amanda tells Andy he's
really serious about Helena, isn't he? Andy defiantly says if he has to fight
Nikos for her, he will.
Later, the phone in Andy's bedsit rings and Amanda answers it. Helena is on
the other end and Amanda tells
her that Andy is in the shower. She says she'll go and get him, but Helena
tells her not to - just to give him a
message. Helena tells Amanda to tell him that she's all right - she saw what
happened to him because of her
and she's not coming back. She says she doesn't want him hurt again. Amanda
tells her that Andy's okay, and
he wants her to come back. Helena says it's better if she stays away and asks
Amanda to tell Andy that she
loves him. She hangs up and Andy enters the room. Amanda tells him it was
Helena. Andy asks where she is,
but Amanda says she doesn't know. She tells him Helena said that she loves
him, but won't be coming back.
Stephen and Caroline arrive at Dural, and Stephen tells Barbara they have
a surprise - they've just become
engaged again. Barbara puts on a false smile and tells them it's wonderful.
Gary looks annoyed.

In Fiona's flat, Amanda
tells her that Andy's determined to find Helena, and she's worried about what's
going to
happen when Nikos arrives. Fiona says she is too. Amanda asks Fiona if she
knows anything about Nikos, but
she says not really. Fiona asks Amanda to take Andy out for the rest of the
day - she might be able to calm Nikos
down if Andy wasn't around. Andy comes in, and Amanda suggests they drive
around - they might be able to
spot Helena somewhere. Andy says he's staying there until Nikos arrives.
At Dural, Gary shouts at Caroline, asking what the hell she thinks she's doing.
Caroline tells him to keep his voice
down, as everything's under control. Gary tells her she's just been using
him, and doesn't give a damn about him.
Caroline tells him she cares a lot about him, and he has to trust her. Stephen,
Gordon and Barbara come in with
a bottle of wine. Gary looks angrily at Caroline.
Amanda, Fiona and Andy are sitting in Fiona's flat. Fiona says the last thing
they need is another fist fight.
Amanda says fighting with Nikos isn't going to help Helena. Andy tells them
he's not running away from him.
There is a knock on the door and a young man walks in, saying he's looking
for Mrs. Thompson. Fiona realises
he must be Nikos and introduces him to Amanda and Andy. Nikos tells Andy it's
very good to meet him, and he's
sure they'll be able to solve their problem. He offers Andy his hand, and
Andy is surprised.
Helena
is a young Greek girl who Fiona has been entrusted to look after before her
arranged wedding to Nikos. Andy has fallen for her.
Some heavies came looking for Helena and gave Andy a bit of a kicking.
